Just under 100 days until National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) 2025! 🎉 In anticipation, our Director of Policy, Strategic Partnerships, and Stakeholder Engagement at City & Guilds, Paddy Craven FIEP, hosted an In Conversation With podcast featuring Peter Bedford MP, the newly elected Conservative MP for Mid Leicestershire. They discussed the importance of providing equal opportunities for all, particularly through apprenticeships and professional and technical training. MP Peter Bedford was asked about his Maiden speech in the House of Commons: “Life chances, owning your own home, getting a career and having a family should not be the exclusive preserve of the wealthy but should be opportunities available to all”. The podcast covers a range of topics, including:  📘 The need for a cultural shift in how society views education and skills training.                                👨⚖️ The collaborative efforts of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Apprenticeships in driving policy changes. 💡 The economic importance of apprenticeships and Peter’s vision for empowering future generations. 🌍 Modernising educational systems to keep pace with technology and boost the UK’s global standing. Yesterday, we attended the ColegauCymru Annual Conference, which brought together key stakeholders, educators, and industry leaders from Wales and beyond. Our Senior Policy, Stakeholder and Partnerships Manager, Angharad Lloyd Beynon delivered the keynote address, covering our collaboration with FE colleges in Wales and highlighting achievements from our Impact Report, generating significant interest and discussion.   Sponsored by City & Guilds, the conference offered the sector an opportunity to explore the value of further education, reflect on progress, network, and consider the future of post-16 education in Wales.   A big thank you to the organisers and fellow speakers.
