Today is World Menopause Day 💜 Menopause affects all of us – both directly if we experience it ourselves, or indirectly if we are supporting family, friends, or colleagues. We’re dedicated to making sure our staff feel supported during this journey. That's why we're working to raise awareness, and empathy for those dealing with menopause symptoms. 👚 Ever wondered what a hot flush feels like? The UK's aviation and aerospace regulator
About us
We are the UK’s aviation and aerospace regulator. We strive to ensure the aviation industry meets the highest safety standards in order to protect air passengers and the general public. We also run the ATOL scheme, which ensures that consumers are protected financially should they become stranded abroad. But our work doesn’t stop there. Aviation is an exciting and rapidly expanding field, and we are proud to be at the forefront. Our work sees us developing regulations for the most current aviation technology, and ensuring that environmental standards are effectively managed. You could help us to achieve our strategic objectives, and be a part of something great. Providing our people with talent and development opportunities is a fundamental part of our strategy. We have an approach to performance and development that supports accountability, wellbeing, and puts you in the driving seat. It encourages open dialogue between you and your manager with regular conversations to help shape your aspirations, share feedback, manage your progression and build your personal development plan. Our wide range of courses and resources are open to all to support you in your current role and help you get ready for a great future. We also encourage secondments, project-based work and 'on the job' learning as part of our blended learning approach. We recently conducted ramp checks at various small airfields and major airports across the UK, alongside the Federal Aviation Administration. The ramp checks focused on the N-registered general aviation light aircraft and business jets based in the UK ✈ These aircraft are certificated by the FAA and their pilots, owners and operators must follow all relevant rules and regulations regardless of where they fly. Feeling unusually tired or dizzy can be more than just fatigue—it might be carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning 🥱🛩 Though rare, CO poisoning has been a silent factor in multiple fatal general aviation accidents. Whether you're a recreational pilot or flying with friends, CO exposure is a real risk that can’t be ignored. Our guidance 👇

We're enabling drones to fly beyond the visual line of sight of remote pilots using ‘atypical air environments’. This new policy marks a significant milestone for the future of drone operations for use in surveying national infrastructure and site security. What is an atypical air environment? It's an area of airspace where operators can expect there to be a reduced number of traditionally piloted aircraft, due to the proximity of ground infrastructure.
