On August 28th, 2024, METRO AG acquired UK-based food service delivery specialist Caterite Food & Wineservice Ltd. With Caterite’s regional focus on the tourist-rich Lake District and surrounding areas, this acquisition helps METRO expand its food service delivery activities into the northern parts of the UK, thereby accelerating its nationwide expansion. Caterite will complement the activities of Classic Fine Foods UK, a food service delivery specialist that has been part of METRO since 2015 and is already well-established in the UK. With a strong emphasis on local assortment, value-added services, and high-quality fresh food, Caterite will enable us to further strengthen our position as the leading distributor of fine food ingredients in the UK.
