B CORP - MORE THAN A BADGE! Did you know that Danone is one of the largest B Corps in the UK & Ireland? We’re really proud to show how ‘better business’ can make a positive impact. And I’m really proud to work for a B Corp! At @Danone, the B Corp ethos is at the heart of everything we do – balancing purpose and profit so we can use our business as a force for good. There’s a whole number of ways we show up as a B Corp. Last year, for example, we announced our commitments around health, leading the way by setting firm standards to help ensure that people can access both healthy and tasty products. We also worked to improve the recyclability of our products – from removing the plastic on our Actimel bottles, to switching to tethered caps across our Alpro range. And we became an Includability Committed Employer as part of our ambition to foster uniqueness, inclusivity and diversity within our workplace. These are just a few examples, but our new B Corp Impact Report takes a look at exactly how we use our business as a force for good for our customers, people and the planet – as well as highlighting areas where we can do more. https://lnkd.in/dFZ8qccw

Being part of B Lab by having the #BCorpCertification could have some advantages for your business 😊 The B Corp seal serves as a certification granted to companies that demonstrate they meet certain #sustainability, #social, and #environmental #responsibility standards ♻ To achieve this, your company will have to pass some pretty rigorous “tests” that will allow the organization to determine if you can be part of the B Corp certified companies of the world. Some of them are Ben & Jerry's, Danone, Nestlé Nespresso SA, ISDIN or Natura &Co. Having this certification could give your company a competitive advantage and a great recognition 💡 🔗https://lnkd.in/d2GhwUun

Many certification programs ensure companies meet a certain set of criteria and provide a level of confidence in the area in which the company is certified under. For instance, restaurants have basic and universal hygiene standards that they comply with to be able to serve the sell meals, this applies to all types of cuisine. For companies that operate under the principle of doing business for good, one of the most interesting accreditations to is B Corp. Did you know that not all B Corps are certified the same? The first difference amongst B Corps that I want to mention is their score. Currently, each company must meet a minimum of 80 points (out of 200) to become a B Corp. Important to note that some points are mutually exclusive from each other or depends on the industry and sector, so you will probably never see a 200-point B Corp company. This means that there are a million of combinations to reach to the certification status, just like the hygiene standards the fundamental basics are the same but then in what areas the company may perform stronger in can vary. You do not need to be strong in all areas to be certified, and this scoring system allows companies to work on continuous improvements in their ESG efforts even after being certified as they can identify areas where they score less than others. B Corp companies need to be re-certified every 3 years. For that reason, the scoring system allows companies to build their own ESG strategy and improvement roadmap to secure their re-certification and at the same time, continuously add more value to society as a business. Next time you see a B Corp logo from a company’s packaging or website, check them out on the B Corp business directory to see how many points they have scored! It is important to note that the standards continue to evolve over time to make sure that the assessment is always relevant, in the coming year we can expect to see some evolution in the B Corp criteria. #babayagaconsultancy #sustainabilityconsultant #bcorp #bleader #businessforgood #forceforgood #thiswayforward #evolvingBCorpstandard

Nestlé prides itself on sourcing 50 trillion liters of milk annually from around the world, all while presenting a polished corporate image.
