About us

Cleaner Seas Group® is a committed crew of ocean lovers that believe in the power of Intelligent Conservation™. A global team of innovators, designers, entrepreneurs and environmentalists working together to make a real and tangible impact on the future of our planet. Our core mission is very clear; to restore and protect our oceans. Established in 2017, our first task was to tackle one of the biggest ocean polluters; microplastics. Microfibre pollution from synthetic fibre shed accounts for 35% of marine microplastics. We have worked tirelessly to generate awareness of the issue of microplastic pollution and develop real solutions. Indi™️our home washing machine filter and Indikon™️ our commercial scale filter both launched in JUNE 2023 ✊🏻🌊🚀 Are you filtering yet? Help us #TurnTheTide on ocean pollution.

📣NEWS JUST IN: Alberto Costa re-introduces the bill to ensure all washing machines have a microfibre filter fitted as standard. House of Commons. 29 OCT 2024. Today Alberto Costa re-introduced the Microplastic Filters (Washing Machines) Bill in the House of Commons. 📃The Bill would require washing machine manufacturers to fit microplastic-catching filters in all new domestic and commercial washing machines. The Bill also aims to raise awareness of the polluting effects of microplastics on our rivers and seas. 🌊TWO HUGE WAVES OF PROGRESS 🌊 Although this isn’t the first time that the bill has been presented Cleaner Seas Group® sincerely hope it’s the last and successful push for this necessary legislation to come into effect. “Microfibre plastic pollution is one of the most pervasive and avoidable forms of plastic pollution. Over a third of all environmental microplastics come from clothing, and research shows that installing filters on washing machines can reduce microfibre emissions by over 78% per was cycle and this number is improving as the technology progresses. Two years ago, I presented this 10 Minute Rule Bill to the House, and many colleagues have approached me since expressing support for this measure and encouraging me to present this Bill to the House again. It has cross-party support and would be an easy win for a government committed to reducing the effects of microplastic pollution on the environment and our health.” ALBERTO COSTA 👀READ MORE ABOUT THE BILL: https://lnkd.in/gZSTrtBd 👀READ MORE ABOUT ALBERTO COSTA: https://lnkd.in/gBs6h8DH) ✊SUPPORT The second reading of this bill will happen on 7th March. Between now and then we urge you to make noise! Share this post. Tag Rt Hon Steve Reed OBE MP and speak to your MP. 🌊Together we CAN turn the tide on ocean pollution. #WavesOfChange #WashingMachineFilter #Legilation #Microplastics #Microfibres #OceanPollution #OceamConservation #Legislation #Government #Change

‘Unless you’re a deeply committed nudist, getting dressed each morning is likely one of the first things you do, closely followed by breakfast. 🍑➡️🍽️ However, these two acts might be more deeply linked than you thought, as research has shown that as humans, we are starting to eat our clothes thanks to the micro-plastics that are released from them, which then end up in the food supply chain.’ 💡A great article from RSVP Live explaining the link between microfibres shedding from our clothing and microplastics being found in human bodies. 🐟🫀🫁⛑️ 👀READ HERE: https://lnkd.in/eKyj8b2a The article doesn’t, however, outline one very simple action you can take today to start preventing this pervasive pollution by fitting a microfibre filter to your washing machine. ➡️Cleaner-Seas.com Together we can turn the tide on ocean pollution. #Microfibres #Microplastics #OceanHealth #HumanHealth #OceanPollution #OceanComservation #SustainableFashion #CleanSeas #CleanerSeas

🚨DOLPHINS ARE BREATHING OUT MICROPLASTICS. The Guardian. 16 Oct 24. 🐬Microplastics have been found in dolphin breath for the first time, according to a study that suggests the marine mammals are inhaling the potentially harmful contaminants when they come up for air. 🐬Many of the microplastics found in the dolphin breath samples were polyester, a common polymer used to make clothes, which shed huge amounts of particles when washed, especially in hot cycles. 🐬 The scientists collected samples of exhaled air from bottlenose dolphins in two sites: Sarasota Bay, Florida, an urban estuary, and Barataria Bay, Louisiana, a rural site. They found microplastics in the exhaled breath from all 11 bottlenose dolphins sampled, leading them to believe the inhaled plastics were airborne. 📰READ THE ARTICLE: https://lnkd.in/emDiEG37 📄READ THE RESEARCH: https://lnkd.in/dbcxUVs2 🌊Make a difference. 🚂A GRAND reflection! Sat on a train on my way to Grand Designs Live in Birmingham to take to the stage this afternoon. Our first visit to Grand Designs London was celebrating the launch of our INDI domestic filter back in May 2023. Since then so much has happened! 🌊we’ve now been selling Indi home filters for almost 18months!! 🌊we have the worlds first and only return and recycle cartridge system for microfibre waste. 🌊we’ve won global and local awards for our technology and commitment. 🌊we’ve scaled our filtration technology to tackle industrial, commercial and global microfibre waste. 🌊we’re launching our recyclate technology and building a recycling plant in Cornwall. 🌊we’ve onboarded so many new partners in many sectors from cruise to water treatment works to laundries and hotel groups. 🌊we’re building a team and a community that support our mission. AND SO MUCH MORE! Yet it feels like we’re just getting started…it’s still just as important to us to tackle microplastic pollution at every source and get a filter into every home! GDL 02 OCT 2024 2PM I’m talking on The Sustainable Futures stage today on how sustainability starts at home with the brilliant Max McMurdo If you’re in town please do come and say hello. ReFounder, OceanSaver - helping 1,000,000 people to clean plastic-free and Ocean-friendly

Anyone else had that feeling that they've lost momentum? I definitely had that feeling over the summer. It's a strange perception - disconcerting and hard to know what to make of it when you're constantly focus on building towards your vision. Back in May we'd just closed our financial year really strongly, launched our TV ad, we were all working towards a singular goal. It just felt like we were on a roll. But all good things can't last forever and we were knackered after that sprint. Add in summer holidays, maybe less traction on certain projects than we wanted and it all added up to a sense that we'd lost some pace. In trying to think how to get that feeling of momentum back, I wrote down everything we achieved over the last 3 months. • Beat our budget number (+100% YoY) • Tesco Clean Event that drove our best week ever • Top 10 sales ranking in Amazon • Surprising one of our OceanSaver customers with a £3000 Cornish holiday • Lots of events including our first Stand-Up Paddleboard meet • Loads of great collabs - Grubby, Waterhaul, Fine Bedding Co, Cleaner Seas Group® Seas, Toast Brewing, PEACHIES • Over a dozen hours of impact time volunteered by the team • A much needed 2 week holiday! It's actually quite a lot 🤔 Nothing game-changing but really solid progress. What this makes me think: 1. Sometimes you can make progress without "feeling" like you are 2. You can't always be surfing. Sometimes you're just bobbing along and that's ok. 3. Momentum doesn't just happen. You need to make your own waves. I've now got that itch to get the momentum back - hopefully you'll see the fruits of that over the next few months! ---- Follow me 🌍 Adam Joe Parker 🌊 as we build OceanSaver the first Ocean megabrand in consumer goods.
