A new report says we are falling short of protecting 30% of land and oceans by 2030. Currently only 8.3% of global marine areas are protected. According to the report we need to ramp up creating areas for marine conservation, support for local communities, and encourage governments to allocate more budget to protecting land and oceans. 👻 Air pollution is scary. WHO data show that almost all of the global population (99%) breathe air that exceeds WHO guideline limits and contains high levels of pollutants, with low- and middle-income countries suffering from the highest exposures. Air quality is closely linked to the earth's climate and ecosystems globally. Research says that air pollution kills about 7 million people, 1 million sea birds, and 100,000 mammals per year. I took Monday off to celebrate my sister's birthday and a 20k walk to Henley with this dog, my first day off since July. I am rocking my new walking boots in the picture. This walk sequestered 44kg of carbon through Climategames by simply syncing my Apple Watch – a win-win for health and the environment! 🌎 I attended the Net Zero Festival in London on Tuesday with 🌎 Dee Davison, there was a key message for biodiversity conservation, it's evident that nature-based solutions are crucial in mitigating climate change. The WWF Living Planet Report advocates that these solutions could slash annual greenhouse gas emissions by 10–19%, offering a dual benefit of ecosystem preservation and enhanced livelihoods. Furthermore, the RSPB's Nature Positive Initiative is set on achieving a nature-positive world by 2030, urging both businesses and individuals to step up and contribute. It's time to take action before it's too late. Let's make our movement matter.

The Climategames team were at the BusinessGreen conference yesterday, where we heard a great presentation from the RSPB about the vital role that businesses play in restoring nature. 🌿 💡According to the RSPB, one of the pillars of a nature-positive business is ‘People’.
