In a world where we wish there was no need to have a #Worldhomelessday and #Worldmentalhealthday (both 10th October) representatives from support agencies met at Blaby District Council yesterday where we heard from four brave men their lived experiences of being homeless. They eloquently relayed their personal story to really bring home the challenges of being #homeless and effects on #mentalhealth in a world "where all any one of us wants is to belong and feel recognised for the contribution each of us can make, or could make, with the correct support, to society and to live contently." On World Mental Health Day, let’s all come together to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters. Talking about our mental health can help us cope better with life’s ups and downs. So, on World Mental Health Day and beyond it, why not check in with your friends, family, peers, or colleagues? World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10 October. This year’s theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, and communities.

We were at Worklinks open day yesterday! Worklinks are a ReUse Charity. Residents of Leicester/shire and businesses donate their furniture and electricals. These items are then either sent directly to individuals and families, that for whatever reason may be unable to afford the items for themselves, or sold in their dedicated shop and website.
