Congratulations, Lucia Karina! Our PACS Director in Indonesia was recognised yesterday as one of the United Nations’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Pioneers. This award recognises the business leaders who have acted as catalysts for positive change in advancing the United Nations (UN) SDGs – a set of goals adopted by the UN to address global sustainability challenges. Karina is one of 12 winners, and this recognition acknowledges her work and commitment to champion sustainability and social change in Indonesia. She’s played an integral role in a number of initiatives, including the WASH+ project in Desa Kutamaneuh, which integrates domestic wastewater treatment for improved sanitation and micro-farming, and the Amandina Bumi Nusantara facility, advancing nationwide packaging circularity. Congratulations Karina, and thank you for everything you do to drive action on sustainability at CCEP and in the wider community.

Today, the Tasmanian Government has announced a major milestone in Australia’s recycling capabilities. TasRecycle has been appointed as scheme co-ordinator for the Tasmanian container refund scheme, anticipated to arrive mid-2025. We are a proud partner in TasRecycle, a not-for-profit entity comprising Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Asahi Beverages and Lion. CCEP acts as a scheme operator and / or co-ordinator in every state and territory where a container refund scheme is operational, and with the introduction of the Tasmanian scheme, Australia will have national coverage. This means that no matter where you reside in Australia, you will be able to recycle eligible containers through a container refund scheme, giving them the best possible chance of being recycled into a new container. Orlando Rodriguez, Managing Director, CCEP Australia said: “Together with our partners, we look forward to working closely with the Tasmanian Government to ensure the Scheme is a success, and to give Tasmanians the opportunity to benefit environmentally, financially and socially from Australia’s newest container refund scheme.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gCdjWNRg #CCEPAustralia #TasRecycle #ThisIsForward

Reporting live from New York Climate Week! Our Director of Environmental Sustainability, Megan Mitrevski Dale is representing CCEP, sharing ideas and driving discussions with thousands of other businesses and stakeholders. Read more about why this week is such an important part of the sustainability calendar and why we're supporting the We Mean Business Coalition's call to accelerate climate action through NDCs. Don't know what NDCs are? Megan has you covered. Read more to learn more ⬇
Hello from Climate Group's New York Climate Week! I’m here alongside thousands of other business, NGOs and government leaders to share ideas and drive discussions on how to accelerate climate action. There are lots of reasons why #ClimateWeekNYC is such an important part of the sustainability calendar. The theme for this year is #It’sTime – focused on the urgent need to make progress on tripling renewable energy capacity and doubling energy efficiency. And that is the key focus of what countries will be looking at when they set new national climate reduction targets later this year. Why should we care? Well, if governments set ambitious climate reduction targets (known as Nationally Determined Contributions #NDCs) in line with keeping global warming bellow 1.5°C - they will have to put policies in place that can ensure that they meet those targets. Policies like – mandates on renewable electricity generation, on renewable energy, on electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, on the circular economy. Crucially – stable, clear, ambitious policy allows investment – from businesses like ours, and across our value chain – to flow into things that support a shift to a low-carbon economy. Investment into renewable electricity capacity, batteries for energy storage for vehicles and the grid, new materials that remove the need for fossil fuels. Coca-Cola Europacific Partners has set ambitious targets to reach net zero by 2040 and to use 100% renewable electricity across our business by 2030. We know that reaching this goal will not be easy. The low-hanging fruit is gone. We will absolutely need to continue to collaborate with our suppliers, and with our customers. And we need governments to set targets that are as ambitious as ours. This will help us drive the transition to renewable energy, so that we are no longer reliant on fossil fuels. That’s why we’re supporting the We Mean Business Coalition's call to action, to urge governments to accelerate climate action and set ambitious NDCs that are ambitious, and backed up by policy, investment and timelines that can make them a reality. The long and short of it? #It’sTime to act. #ClimateWeekNYC #WMBC #NDCs #It’sTime
