At CODA Architecture, we’re proud to give historic buildings a new lease on life, preserving their value for future generations. Working with our client, we transformed Peel House in Sheffield city centre from an outdated office building into The Fitzgerald, a vibrant residential development with 102 new apartments. Here’s what makes this project special: 🏘️ More homes in the city centre 🏢 Sensitive refurbishment that respects the building’s original character ♻️ Sustainable reuse of the existing structure, avoiding demolition 🏬 Gentle density with 3-7 storeys that fits the local landscape The Fitzgerald is a great example of how we bring new energy into urban spaces, creating modern homes while preserving Sheffield’s architectural heritage. https://bit.ly/40tj1Rv #CODAArchitecture #UrbanRenewal #SustainableDesign

We’re delighted to share that our design for a new build-to-rent residential community in Sheffield city centre has received planning approval! 🎉 This fantastic project, developed by The Parklane Group, will revitalise a site on Nursery Street, right by the River Don and just a 15-minute walk from Sheffield Midland Station. It will bring 100 new homes to the area, with a mix of studios, 1-, and 2-bedroom apartments tailored for today’s modern city living. Future residents can look forward to: 🏠 Beautifully designed interiors 🏋️♀️ A fully equipped gym ☕️ Barista bar, co-working areas, and private meeting spaces 🍲 A private dining room for gatherings 🎤 A podcasting studio 🌳 An outdoor garden terrace with lovely views over the river and city Our design for this 7-10 storey building draws on Sheffield’s architectural heritage, with red brick and traditional stone banding to give it an authentic local character. We’ve collaborated closely with Sheffield City Council, our partners at Urbana, Eastwood Consulting Engineers, and JCP Consulting Engineers, along with Haaris Ahmed, Yaseen Mohammed, and John Mackie to bring this vision to life. As the Wicker Riverside area continues to grow, this development is set to play a key role in Sheffield’s ongoing northern city centre regeneration, adding to the vibrancy of nearby Kelham Island, Neepsend, and West Bar. We can’t wait to see this project take shape and contribute new life to this emerging Sheffield riverside neighbourhood! #CODAArchitecture #SheffieldLiving #WickerRiverside #Community #SheffieldRegeneration #CityLiving #UrbanDesign

🚧 Construction Update: Exciting progress is being made at Olive Lane, the new mixed-use hub for the Waverley community, brought to life by Harworth Group plc. The CODA team had the pleasure of touring the site yesterday, guided by our partners at Lindum Group, the project's contractors. Olive Lane will soon feature new convenience retail, cafés, restaurants, and a new medical centre, all designed to serve the local community. At the heart of the development is a pedestrianised high street, seamlessly connecting Waverley’s residential area to the Advanced Manufacturing Park. Seeing this vision come together on site is always the most rewarding part of our work, as years of planning and collaboration are finally realised. We’re eagerly anticipating the opening of Olive Lane next year! #OliveLane #Waverley #PlacesForPeople #ResidentialDevelopment #MixedUse #HeartOfTheCommunity

Great to see this recent on site construction progress drone footage at Waverely! The District Centre - Olive Lane is really taking real shape now with the frame up. Please get in touch with Louise Larking or Jack Francis from the FLJ team or our joint agents at Knight Frank if you would like further information about our final remaining units! As students return to university for the new academic year, it's the perfect time to reflect on the impact of our student accommodation projects. We take pride in seeing our designs transform into vibrant communities where students thrive both academically and socially. Our commitment extends beyond creating high-quality buildings; we're dedicated to designing spaces that foster genuine connections and offer a true home away from home. With student accommodation our focus is on maximising each site’s potential and appealing to both students and their families. This means not only delivering exceptional living environments but also ensuring our schemes remain competitive and attractive year after year. https://bit.ly/4gcWcGX

We love this aerial photo from Lindum Group showing construction progress on Olive Lane, the new mixed-use heart of the Waverley community by Harworth Group plc. This site will soon host new convenience retail, cafés, and restaurants, as well as a new medical centre. All centred around a new pedestrianised high street that connects the Waverley residential neighbourhood with the Advanced Manufacturing Park. On the right-hand side, the houses are flying up at Waverley Central, a new development of 96 homes we have designed and are delivering on behalf of Sky-House Co. The aerial photo really does capture the vibrant semi-rural community character of the Waverley neighbourhood. The site dedicates a large area to green and attractive public open spaces, with two large lakes and the green hills in the distance. #LindumGroup #OliveLaneConstruction #WaverleyCommunity #HarworthGroupPlc #MixedUseDevelopment #RetailAndDining #NewMedicalCentre #PedestrianisedHighStreet #AdvancedManufacturingPark #SkyHouseCoDevelopment #WaverleyCentralHomes #SemiRuralCommunityCharacter

Construction is well underway for a new development of 73 family homes in Parson Cross, Sheffield. Beckett Hill is transforming two long-vacant brownfield sites, previously occupied by housing, into a vibrant community. What sets this scheme apart is not only the rebuilding of homes but also the increased density, rising from 46 homes to 73. This development is perfect for families, offering: 👫 Proximity to several local schools, with one right next door. 🚶♀️ A short walk to local shops, amenities, and a large supermarket. 🌳 Nearby parks and green spaces. 🚍 Easy access to regular bus services into the city centre and throughout Sheffield. It's incredibly rewarding to see the hard work and planning of so many people come to life on-site. It's a pleasure to witness these homes being built on behalf of Keepmoat and Sheffield Housing Company Limited. We all know how much these family homes are needed. 🏘️ Let's build more homes! #ParsonCrossDevelopment #BeckettHillHomes #CommunityTransformation #FamilyFriendlyLiving #SheffieldConstruction #NewHomeGoals #UrbanRenewalProject #FamilyFirstLiving #SchoolsNearby #LocalAmenitiesAccess #GreenSpacesGalore #PublicTransportConvenience #BuildingCommunities #KeepmoatDevelopments

Our designs for a new Build-to-Rent residential scheme on Nursery Street in Sheffield city centre have been submitted to planning. The proposed development will feature 102 new homes in a mix of studios, one-bedroom apartments, and two-bedroom apartments. Residents amenities include a fully equipped gym, co-working and meeting spaces, a private dining room for hosting dinner parties, a fully equipped podcasting studio, and a 1st floor garden terrace with views over the River Don. The design of the proposed 7/10 storey building has taken inspiration from the local heritage architecture which typically features red brick and horizontal stone banding. The massing has been carefully considered to create a comfortable transition in scale from neighbouring 5-story buildings, to the larger office blocks facing the site across the river, and the proposed 7/12-story Build-to-Rent residential scheme that has been granted planning permission nearby on Nursery Street. The proposed scheme will be developed by The Parklane Group who are known for their award-winning developments and a portfolio that includes successful ventures like Roomzzz Aparthotels and IconInc student accommodation. We have been closely working with Parklane, John Mackie, Urbana, @Eastwood Consulting Engineers, JCP Consulting Engineers Ltd, and in consultation with Sheffield City Council to develop the design of the building. Following the successful and ongoing regeneration of Kelham Island, Neepsend and West Bar, Wicker Riverside is the logical next step in the redevelopment of the northern part of the city centre. Our aim is to contribute significantly to the renewal of the Wicker Riverside neighbourhood and help create a vibrant community that attracts new residents and visitors alike. We envision that the proposed scheme will act as a catalyst for further development, bringing new life and energy to this emerging riverside neighbourhood in Sheffield city centre. #Sheffield #Regeneration #SheffieldRegeneration #SheffieldCityCentre #SheffieldRedevelopment #Architecture #CityLiving #UrbanDesign #BuildToRent #ResidentialScheme
