We are proud to share that Cognitant is collaborating with the Universities of Birmingham, Cambridge, and Bournemouth on COMbAT Fatigue, a pioneering self-management programme to help stroke survivors manage post-stroke fatigue—one of the most debilitating and overlooked symptoms, affecting nearly half of all stroke survivors. This five-year programme, funded by the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) and Stroke Association, aims to co-create a digital self-management tool, empowering individuals to regain energy and participate more fully in activities that bring value to their lives. Dr. Tim Ringrose, CEO of Cognitant, said: "We are thrilled to contribute to this critical programme and work with stroke survivors, caregivers, and clinicians to design a solution that meets their real-world needs." The programme represents a significant step forward in post-stroke care, offering hope to those battling fatigue. 📢 “Partnerships with industry are key to spreading the best of the NHS across the system” - Dr. Amit Aggarwal from the The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI). A recent ABPI report, ‘Partnering for progress: A data-driven analysis of NHS-industry partnerships’, reveals that hospitals partnering with industry are up to 2.5 times more likely to follow NICE guidelines for prescribing cost-effective medicines. The study, focused on cardiovascular disease, cholesterol control, and diabetes, shows better patient outcomes and improved disease management in Primary Care Networks. Key successes include faster cancer diagnostics in Wales and pharmacist-led clinics freeing up specialist appointments in Scotland. This aligns with our work at Cognitant, where we collaborate with the NHS, life sciences and other healthcare organisations to co-create digital health solutions that support patient education and long-term condition management, driving innovation across the NHS. Fresh off the success at the PM Society Digital Awards, we'd love to give you a closer look at the award-winning My Stroke Companion and its impact on stroke survivors. In collaboration with Dr. Rob Simister and the incredible team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH), My Stroke Companion is tackling one of the UK’s most significant health challenges, offering personalised, accessible support to stroke survivors and their carers. 📊 Key results from a recent impact study: 📋 504 information prescriptions issued, engaging 400 users over six months. 💡 Stroke understanding improved from 31% to 88% for survivors, and 35% to 96% for caregivers. ✅ 81% of survivors and 93% of caregivers found it easy to use. 📖 91% of survivors and 92% of caregivers rated the content clear and accessible. 😊 High satisfaction: 91% of survivors and 85% of caregivers expressed high satisfaction. 💬 Dr. Rob Simister: “This platform encourages active self-management by providing personalised, accessible information.” #StrokeRecovery #DigitalHealth #PatientSupport #HealthcareInnovation #PMSocietyDigitalAwards
