Collett have proudly completed 100 transformer project installations this year! This milestone signifies much more than just a number, it reflects the countless hours of collaboration, dedication and commitment from our Projects, Heavy Lift Team and Drivers in supporting our clients in the power sector.⚡ The 100th transformer, as seen in the first photo, was transported from Stafford to a site in Kilmarnock via Ellesmere Port and Port of Ayr. Collett’s project scope encompassed ship chartering, port operations, girder bridge transportation, transshipment onto SPT, jacking and skidding and final installation. Last week, our very own Stan Moody showcased incredible talent at the Northern Ireland Open, securing a brilliant 4-0 victory against World Championship runner-up Jak Jones to reach the final 16! As Stan's main sponsor, we're thrilled to see him building on his impressive form this season, with recent victories over Zhang Anda, Tom Ford and Ryan Day. To compete in the last 16 alongside snooker heavyweights like defending champion Judd Trump, Shaun Murphy and Stuart Bingham is an outstanding achievement. Stan's final game was a challenging match against current World Champion Kyren Wilson. While he didn't secure the win, Stan played with skill and determination, putting up a remarkable fight. We couldn't be prouder of everything Stan has achieved so far and we're excited to see what's next. Well done, Stan!

With the Heavy Lift Awards under a week away on 23rd October, we are looking forward to attending as finalists for the Overland Transport Provider of the Year award. Here is a closer look at the project that earned Collett this nomination: Our team was tasked with the transport and delivery of 88 wind turbine components for the Drumlins Park Wind Farm in Ireland. Each component was transported 199 miles from the Port of Waterford to the wind farm site, with night-time deliveries planned to minimise traffic congestion and disruption to the local community. Beyond the transport itself, Collett executed a range of preliminary works, including comprehensive route surveys, visual inspections and swept path analysis. These technical assessments were critical in identifying potential obstacles and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of the components. Additionally, we collaborated with CRG and local councils to develop robust traffic management plans, which prioritised both public safety and operational efficiency. An exciting update from Cushaling wind farm this week, as we successfully delivered the final components to site. Over the course of the project, a total of 90 components were delivered to complete the nine V162 Vestas Eventus turbines, which are currently under construction. 👷♀️ The wind farm marks a milestone in Collett’s renewables portfolio with the delivery of 80m long blades, the longest blades to be delivered in UK & Ireland to date! 🙌 Collett embraced the challenge of transporting the immense blades head-on, demonstrating leadership in innovative solutions within the wind turbine transport sector through our industry-leading Blade Adapter trailer. 🚛 We would like to thank our dedicated team that were situated in Ireland over the course of the project as well as our partners on the project that contributed to the successful delivery of these components.
