TRANSPORT HOUSE, BELFAST - PROGRESS UPDATE Works are progressing well at Transport House, a unique 1950’s art deco landmark building being conserved and refurbished for modern office accommodation. The new 5th floor extension steel frame is complete - with roofing works and curtain walling to this new level now underway. Restoration and remedial works to the existing façade continue. Internally plasterboard partition walls along with mechanical and electrical first fix is progressing up through the floors. P&B FOODS FACTORY, HUNTSTOWN, DUBLIN   Connolly & Fee is currently constructing two industrial units for P&B foods Ltd (the home of the Heera brand), at Huntstown Business Park, Dublin. Each unit will house a warehouse / logistics centre, ancillary office space and staff facilities. The development will also see the provision of staff and visitor car parking and cycle parking spaces; articulated vehicle and van parking; site fencing, gates, signage, underground drainage and attenuation, landscaping, and boundary treatment.   The project is moving at pace, the erection of structural steelwork to both buildings is now complete with blockwork, precast flooring and stairs well underway. The co-operative, proactive approach adopted by the Client and their team, including JSA Architects, Ryan Associates and Albert Strain Associates, has been integral to the delivery process.   Watch this space for updates. PROJECT COMPLETION: GAELSCOIL UI DHOCHARTAIGH, STRABANE Connolly & Fee recently completed the construction of a new 7-class primary school and standalone nursery unit for Gaelscoil Ui Dhochartaigh. Constructed on a green field site, the new buildings sport multiple standout features including curtain walling, Kingspan Kingzip Roof, Bi-lingual Signage, stone cladding and coloured render. Works also included site development to create carparking, hard play, planting, paving and road infrastructure. It was a pleasure working alongside the Client and their appointed ICT, to realise the project vision and design aspirations. PROGRESS UPDATE - ABC COMMUNITY HUB Phase 2 of ABC Community Hub, is making super progress with superstructure block and brick work nearing completion and M&E fist fix underway to ground floor. Pre-cast roof slab installation will commence within 3 weeks. The completed scheme will see the delivery of new gym and boxing club facilities, a healthy living café, dance studio and multi-use space, together with a central courtyard and outdoor amenities for BCC. PROJECT COMPLETION: WATERSIDE YOUTH CENTRE & EA OFFICES Connolly & Fee recently handed over the superb new build Waterside Youth Centre & Offices, Derry/Londonderry. This project for the Education Authority (Northern Ireland) comprised fully accessible staff offices, sports hall/multi-use facilities, wc’s, kitchens, sensory space, climbing wall & breakout area. It was shortlisted as a finalist in this years UK GO Awards and has been adopted by the EA as a Social Value Case Study. It has been a pleasure working with the EA appointed team on this and getting to know the end users.
