Online Support Sessions We offer regular support sessions covering a range of topics. These sessions will take place online. Fiscal Hosting (holding money for grassroots groups) 30th October, 12-1pm Menopause Matters Supporting people impacted by menopause 25th November, 12:30-1:45pm Community Groups 101: 11th December, 12-1pm These will be surgery-style sessions for folks to bring their questions to the Consortium team. On Saturday 14th September we held the TRANSforming Futures celebration event. TF is a partnership project: Stonewall, LGBT Consortium, Gendered Intelligence, Sparkle, Black Pride UK, Be:North, GIRES, Mermaids, CliniQ, and Galop funded by the National Lottery Community Fund aiming to improve criminal justice and healthcare systems for trans people. The first stage of this project, before my time, was the creation of 3 reports (criminal justice, healthcare, under 18's) where the partnership researched trans people's experiences through surveys, community workshops, and contributions from experts on each area. Each report included suggestions from trans people on what could be done to improve these systems for trans people, and these went on to form the basis of the second stage of the project - awarding financial and non-financial (training) contributions to organisations and individuals whose proposed projects fulfilled these aims. It was an incredible experience finally meeting some of our 18 awardees in person and hearing more about the work they've done in the lifetime of their award, the positive impact TRANSforming Futures has had on them, and more. I'm so excited for our evaluation report and celebratory short film to be completed so we can share this insight into the significance of accessible funding streams for trans work, and the importance of this being trans-led throughout!

I find it difficult to express just how proud, lucky, and humbled I am to have the opportunity to join the board of the Consortium of LGBT+ Voluntary and Community Organisations. For me, the charity has always been a model of best practice in engaging with community groups and exemplifying transparency in supporting grassroots organisations. I’ve often drawn on their example to develop resources for community groups in Wales and beyond over the past few years. I’m excited to work with the trustees, CEO, and staff, bringing a Welsh perspective to our work. I look forward to contributing my experience from devolved administrations, policy, evidence, and research to continue supporting LGBTQ+ organisations across the UK.

Six years ago, GiveOut teamed up with Macquarie Group, The Funding Network, and Consortium of LGBT+ Voluntary and Community Organisations to create City for LGBT+—a groundbreaking fundraising event uniting the LGBTQI community and our allies to champion human rights activism both in the UK and globally. Since its inception, City for LGBT+ has raised over £300,000, providing vital resources to LGBTQI organisations that are tirelessly advocating for equality and lasting change. For example, thanks to funds raised in 2019, Equality for All Foundation Jamaica in Jamaica was able to rebuild ‘Rainbow House’ after a devastating fire, restoring a vital safe space for the community to gather and thrive. As Glenroy Murray, Executive Director of J-FLAG, explained, “When we lost that space on December 30th, 2018, it was a hit not just to us as an organisation, but to the community. They lost that space.” Now, with Rainbow House restored, Glenroy notes, “The community feels like they have a space again where they can just come and talk to us.
