We are thrilled to share some exciting CC&D news that we have introduced our latest addition to the manufacturing floor, the state-of-the-art automated candle filling machine! This remarkable technology represents a massive step forward in our quest for improved efficiency, scalability, and uncompromised quality.   We have conducted comprehensive tests to assess the versatility and capabilities of the equipment, ensuring that it meets and exceeds our expectations in delivering top-notch candles to our valued customers. With this automated candle filling machine, we are confident in our ability to respond to market demands promptly, consistently delivering superior products with enhanced efficiency. Some interesting figures about our new automated line, we can produce between 1,500 - 2,000pcs in one hour depending on the size and number of wicks. Our daily capacity is around 18,000pcs running a single shift. So far, we have poured over 2 million units in the first 14 months using the line!

As part of CC&D’s commitment to Sustainability and to hold ourselves accountable for achieving the goals we have set in our 5 year sustainability strategy, each year CC&D pull together a Sustainability Annual Report. This documents our Sustainability journey and tracks our progress to show where we are in reaching our goals and long term strategy. This is the second annual report produced by CC&D and we are proud to show the progress we have made over the past year. Some of our key highlights in 2023 include joining the United Nations Global Compact, installing solar panels on our Fernhurst Manufacturing Site and 2023 saw our Science Based Targets become verified and published by Science Based Targets initiative. As we get further along our sustainability journey we are again and again reminded of the importance of collaboration in the sustainability space. Contract Candles and Diffusers Ltd has been measuring It’s Carbon Footprint since 2019. Using 2020 as the base year we have embarked on a carbon reduction strategy. Sustainability is not just about carbon to us. It influences how we do our business, how we look after our employees and how we can contribute to our local community. Science Based Targets initiative provide a clearly defined pathway for companies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, helping prevent the worst impacts of climate change and future-proof business growth. Targets are considered ‘science-based’ if they are in line with what the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. We have committed to a net zero target companywide using SBTi as an accreditation body to verify our carbon strategy and carbon reduction plan. We have committed to a 42% reduction of our scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. Our long-term ambition is to reduce by 95% by 2050.
