We are pleased to announce that Elizabeth Parker has been named Employee of the Quarter for Q4! Elizabeth's exceptional contributions to the Wax Lyrical QA department have not gone unnoticed, and we are excited to spotlight her achievements. In December 2023 Elizabeth stepped up to run the QA department temporarily. Liz took on several new responsibilities including the positive release of cosmetic products. This was the first time she would undertake this task and doing it without supervision would have been daunting. Emanuela Pari, QA Manager said: "Many people become grumpy and unpleasant when they are under stress, but I have witnesses telling me that Liz is still displayed a smile and a positive attitude during difficult circumstances. We should recognise not only her professional value but also the positive vibe she brings as a person and the good relationships she creates with different departments." In response to the award, Elizabeth humbly stated: "I just got on with it, but I'm pleased to have received such lovely comments. Kathryn Atkinson, a Customer Service Team Leader at our Wax Lyrical business, has shared her motivation behind choosing an apprenticeship to enhance her role. Kathryn recognised the value of gaining comprehensive knowledge to support her responsibilities as a Team Leader. She chose the apprenticeship route as the most effective way to achieve just that. As Kathryn continues her apprenticeship journey, she's already gaining invaluable insights. A highlight so far has been delving into the realm of emotional intelligence and its profound impact on both individual and team dynamics. Additionally, she's acquiring essential skills in building a high-performance team. So, what's next on Kathryn's horizon? Her immediate goal is to complete the course by the end of this year. Armed with the knowledge and skills acquired, Kathryn is eager to apply them directly to her team, ensuring a positive and effective work environment. Our Head of Research and Development, Will Locke, recently attended #UlverSTEM, a vibrant Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths event tailored for 6-16 year olds in and around Furness. Will passionately guided attendees through the fascinating realms of scents, colours, and the home fragrance industry with hands-on experiments and interactive tasks. Will said, "I thoroughly enjoyed the event and the chance to share some of my task-based games was incredible, though I must admit, by the end of the day, I had nearly lost my voice!" Gary Ponsford, our Senior National Account Manager, has been awarded the Employee of the Quarter for Q3!
