We’re the UK’s leading awarding organisation specialising in counselling.
About us
From our beginnings in 1993 the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) has grown to become the UK's leading awarding body specialised in counselling. Forming part of the Counselling Psychology Services Group (CPS), we offer vocational qualifications in over 200 training centres and 400 locations throughout the UK and overseas with over 16,000 candidates registering with us each year. We are the only awarding body run by counsellors for counsellors. Our success is based on our commitment to developing competent counsellors. Our practical experience of counselling gives us a unique ability to design and support vocational qualifications in this and related fields. Embracing diversity is one of the pillars of CPCAB’s philosophy. Embedded within all of our qualifications is criteria that is focused on working with difference and diversity. Our ethical ethos runs through everything we do as a company. Our eco-friendly offices, in the heart of rural Somerset, provide a family-like environment that helps nourish staff relationships across the various teams that make up CPCAB. This supportive approach begins in the building and spreads beyond its walls into the relationships we build with centres, tutors and candidates.
