What is CIPD’s Manifesto for Good Work and why do we support it? CIPD stands for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is the professional body for human resources. To support the Government’s ambitions for economic growth, we all need to make the UK a great place to work and this requires a long-term workforce strategy underpinned by the principles of skilled, healthy and fair work – says the CIPD. This is their definition of what the Manifesto for Good Work is ⬇️ “Our CIPD Manifesto for Good Work calls on the UK Government to drive systemic changes in the ways in which employers recruit, develop and retain their workforces – to create a more productive and sustainable economy and drive the inclusive growth needed to raise living standards for all. Priority areas include skills, innovation, business support, digital adoption, green transition, immigration and labour market regulation”. So, what does the manifesto call for? It calls for work that is: Skilled – creating more high-skilled jobs and ensuring education and training delivers the skills employers need. Healthy – supporting the development of healthy work and more harmonious and productive workplaces. Fair – Tackling discrimination and inequalities to help more people to access work and progress their careers. We’ll keep you up to speed with if and how the Government adopts this manifesto in the future. #ManifestoForGoodWork #CIPD #HRconsultant #smallbusinessowner.

About us
Operating since 2011, Crafnant Consulting provides businesses in and around Wiltshire with outsourced HR support. We understand the HR challenges that businesses contend with and the personal worries that owners face over HR-related issues. These can be particularly acute when they begin to expand, or at other times of transition. We also know that businesses often need flexible support. Rather than adding full-time staff to their HR provision, they may need help just with a specific issue, or over a particular time period. Crafnant Consulting aims to solve this problem cost-effectively for companies, by providing just the amount of support that is required.

3 bits of important paperwork you need to get sorted this year ⬇️ 1. Contracts Employment law is forever changing and if some of your team has been with you for a while, it’s possible that laws have changed. That means your contracts should reflect this to make sure you and your business are protected in the future. 2. Job descriptions In our experience, it pays to make sure everyone has updated job descriptions too. It avoids any hard feelings; everyone knows where they stand and it also provides you with a level of protection too. 3. Policies Just like your other documents, these have the potential to go out of date pretty quickly. And if they do and you later rely on one of them to help with a grievance or disciplinary, it could make things a lot trickier than they need to be. It goes without saying that, when you update any company documents like these, you must let your staff know of the changes and provide them with new copies of the documents. Need a hand?
