  • Our Eastern division have partnered with Hernhill CofE Primary School supporting creative outdoor play by donating surplus, reusable materials from our Crown Meadows development in Faversham. The initiative is a great example of how we work to maximise material reuse and minimise construction waste, while supporting the school’s award-winning outdoor play and learning approach. The school plan to creatively repurpose the donated materials to develop new areas for the children to explore and have fun, fostering children's creativity. • In celebration of #WorldBookDay yesterday, we are excited to share the launch of our new community book swap initiative. This initiative aims to connect the local community and share the joy of reading. Yesterday saw seven developments across our Midlands and Yorkshire divisions launch their community book swaps, inviting residents from the developments and the wider community to visit our sales offices and discover their next great read. Visitors can help themselves to a free book from our community library and to kickstart the collection, our dedicated sales teams have donated a series of nature-based books to fill the shelves for our first visitors. #WorldBookDay #CommunityBookSwap #CommunityEngagement

  • Last Friday, our South West division had the pleasure of hosting Gloucestershire Community Rail Partnership and Gloucestershire Police at their Perrybrook development for a pop-up sustainable travel event. The local community were invited to come along for a free bike safety check, security marking, and a chance to have a go on the ‘smoothie bike’. In addition, visitors were able to get expert advice on rail and sustainable travel in the local area and were given a free hi-vis vest courtesy of Crest Nicholson to help keep them safe when cycling.

  • We are proud to announce that we are extending our charity partnership with Young Lives vs Cancer, the UK’s leading charity supporting children and young people with cancer, for a further year. Since the two-year partnership was announced in April 2023, our staff have participated in a wide range of fundraising activities, including sponsored treks, golf days, charity balls, and running the London Marathon, raising over £150,000 so far. Leaving a positive legacy is a core value at Crest Nicholson, making our partnership with Young Lives vs Cancer a natural fit. The money raised supports the charity in their aim to help young people with cancer (0-25) and their families from the moment of diagnosis. Read more about our partnership: https://lnkd.in/eFwKZ3dS

  • Today is #RandomActsOfKindness Day! 🎉 In celebration, sales teams from our Midlands and South West divisions surprised residents and staff at their local care centres with an impromptu visit, enjoying conversations with residents and delivering cupcakes for everyone to enjoy. We know that it takes more than just homes to build a desirable place to live and we actively seek opportunities like these that contribute to fostering relationships and deliver positive impacts to the local communities in which we work.

  • Our Chiltern division have recently funded a public art project, as part of its Castlefield Park development in Harlington. Partnering with Alison Turnbull, acclaimed artist Tony Stallard has been commissioned to run a series of workshops in the local community. Last month, Tony ran workshops with nearby Harlington Lower School where the children had great fun using various mediums such as charcoal, crayons, pastels, and coloured pencils to create art that reflects their local area. This public art project is a great example of how we engage with local communities, investing in initiatives that deliver social value in the areas in which we operate. #Chiltern #CommunityEngagement
