Thornhill Athletic FC receive financial boost from East Wales ⚽ Persimmon East Wales has donated £1,000 to Thornhill Athletic FC’s U12s Girls' team as part of its Community Champions initiative. The donation will go towards helping to support the development of young people in the local community by funding additional equipment, training, and further team bonding events. Thornhill U12s Girls' team, founded eighteen months ago, consists of two squads made up of girls from the local community. The teams enjoyed an entertaining first season and are now looking to take the next step in their football journey by playing competitive matches. #PersimmonHomes

🌟 Building hope, one brick at a time 🌟 Persimmon Homes is proud to be part of the life-changing Brick by Brick campaign, supporting The Independent and Refuge in building a safe haven for women and children escaping domestic abuse. In this video, one of our assistant site managers explains the key aspects of constructing this future safe house, where safety, security, and recovery are at the heart of the design.   The need for places like this has never been more urgent. Refuge’s National Domestic Abuse Helpline has seen a 61% rise in calls since the pandemic. This home will not just provide shelter—it will offer a new beginning, equipped with essential security features such as CCTV and arson-proof letterboxes to ensure protection and peace of mind.   We’re proud to be contributing to this vital project alongside businesses, celebrities, and The Independent’s readers. And today we heard the exciting news that we've reached the £300,00 target needed to build this house! ⚽ Supporting local girls football ⚽ Persimmon South West have donated £1,000 to Ottery St Mary Youth FC as part of our Community Champions initiative, helping the club’s girls teams get brand new kits! 🙌 Ottery St Mary Youth FC is a fantastic community club, offering nearly 200 children aged 7-18 the chance to enjoy football. With 10 mixed teams in the Exeter and District Youth League and 3 dedicated girls teams playing in the Devon Girls League, we’re delighted to support their passion for the sport. 📣 Elizabeth Woods has been promoted to Strategic Land Director Designate📣   Our Midlands and South Midlands teams have strengthened their Land teams with the promotion of a Strategic Land and Planning Manager to Strategic Land Director Designate.   Elizabeth Woods has been with our South Midlands team for eleven years, joining as Strategic Land and Planning Graduate in 2013 and progressing through various land and planning roles throughout her time at Persimmon. Elizabeth’s new role will see her working across both the South Midlands and Midlands regions, working on the acquisition and development of strategic land across several counties, including #Worcestershire, #Warwickshire, #Northamptonshire and #Oxfordshire. #PersimmonHomes  

Cambuslang charity receive donation from West Scotland 🌲 Friends of #Cambuslang Park, a local charity dedicated to enhancing well-being through free community activities, is celebrating a £1,000 donation from Persimmon West Scotland.   The charity, which champions the 27-acre green space in #SouthLanarkshire, provides a wide range of activities designed to unite and uplift the community. In 2023 alone, over 3,000 people took part in events such as weekly outdoor play sessions for children, friendly football for adults, and the popular Family Fun Day.   The funds from Persimmon West Scotland will go towards supporting the charity's Connected Community programme, which offers year-round events such as Forest School Sessions, Silent Disco Guided Walks, and Annual Cleanup and Bulb Planting Days. These activities are vital in promoting physical activity, well-being, and social connections, especially in neighbouring areas that face socio-economic challenges.   Persimmon West Scotland Managing Director, Chris Logan was joined by local elected members, Clare Haughey MSP and Cllr Norman Rae to present the cheque to the charity.   #PersimmonHomes  

Willowtown Primary School receives £1,000 for local Community Shop & Kitchen 🍲 The Big Bocs Bwyd Community Shop & Kitchen, ran by volunteers and children at Willowtown Primary School in #EbbwVale, has received £1,000 from Persimmon East Wales. Founded two years ago, The Big Bocs Bwyd Community Shop and Kitchen supports members of the school and local community by providing healthy meals available at ‘pay as you feel’ prices. Our East Wales team's donation will help to install a canopy outside the Shop to create a weatherproof communal area which can be used for information sharing sessions, outdoor family cooking sessions, and as a communal space that can be used all-year round. #PersimmonHomes

Work starts on 51 much-needed new homes in Oulton Broad, Suffolk 🏘 Persimmon Anglia is celebrating as work is about to start on Phase 3 of the Woods Meadow development in Oulton Broad, #Suffolk. The team worked tirelessly to secure reserved matters permission for the site, part of an 800-home scheme that was originally granted outline permission by back in 2013. The application for reserved matters consent was approved by East Suffolk Council this summer and remediation works have been ongoing over recent weeks. That is now nearing completion allowing groundworkers to roll onto site and start work in earnest. Our Anglia team will be building 51 homes ranging from one to four bedroom, including 20 that will be transferred to a housing partner. Of these, 14 will be offered at below market value rent and six will be available on a shared ownership basis. To the eastern edge of the site there will be a large public open space, with plans put forward to be a play area and the site features pedestrian and cycle routes that link to the initial phases of the new community, encouraging active travel. A bridleway that runs through the site has been retained. #PersimmonHomes 

Allotments, cycles paths and bike trails coming to Hethersett 🚴♂️ A parish council on the edge of #Norwich has agreed to adopt two parcels of land adjoining our Kett’s Meadow development that we are transforming into a valuable green space. #Hethersett Parish Council agreed unanimously to adopt the valuable new community asset, which is being developed by Persimmon Anglia in partnership with Taylor Wimpey as part of ongoing Heathersett North development. The land, covering a total area of 10.51ha, will be made available to the whole communtiy and planned features include allotments, parking, cycle paths and bike trails, and potentially a sports pitch to accommodate youth football teams. There will also be natural amphitheatre, community orchards and community woodland with footpaths, wildlife ponds, log piles and a natural play trail, creating a lasting legacy in the village. In addition, the parish council will also receive a commuted sum of £683,000 to fund a community building for social and recreational purposes in the Norfolk village. This adoption is part of the wider Hethersett North development, which was granted planning permission in 2013 for up to 1,196 homes, new schools, local services, and extensive green infrastructure. #PersimmonHomes
