👩🔬 This Women's History Month, Critical Productions is celebrating earth science's female pioneers in the industry. This week we celebrate the infamous Mary Anning, a legend of fossil collecting and who left a legacy to many women and girls across the world. 🦕 🌏 🪨 Facing gender bias and stigma during her time, Anning's efforts in discovering incredible dinosaur fossils such as the plesiosaur and ichthyosaur in her hometown of Lyme Regis, have led to much discovery in the region and a continued fascination in local and national geology. #maryanning #womenshistorymonth♀️ #earthscience #fossils #sustainability

This week, Aileen Doran from Satarla attended the iCRAG Research Ireland Centre for Applied Geosciences 10-year anniversary conference, which showcased the impact, evolution, and progress of the Irish-based research centre ☘️ iCRAG is a research centre that works across multiple institutions and sectors, bringing together geologists, engineers, social scientists, and more to solve problems at the nexus of geoscience and society 🌍 Over its 10 years in operation, iCRAG has evolved with the times and made real impact across Ireland and beyond, helping to pave the way for real impact 🎉 At the conference, there were some amazing keynotes from Christopher Jackson) and Kikki (Helga) Flesche Kleiven discussing the future of geoscience and giving real examples of positive changes that we can all learn from. But we also heard from many of the current iCRAG researchers, giving a flavour of the diversity of work they are and have been involved with.
