Innovative cycle parking and infrastructure designed by cyclists, for everyone.
About us
We create innovative cycle parking and infrastructure. Our focus is to make cycling much safer, secure and convenient. Because improvements in these critical areas enables people to convert to active travel and enjoy the social and environmental benefits of cycling. Our award-winning products are designed by cyclists, for everyone. We help transform all kinds of spaces to become cycle friendly, healthy and sustainable. Be it public streets or train stations, schools, offices - you name it! We’ll help make it cycle friendly. And we work in over 16 countries around the world. Our iconic and critically acclaimed Bikehangar® takes just one half of a car parking space to create six cycle parking spaces. This innovative, public rental scheme – where Councils own and, we install and manage the units - has transformed London. A city where bike theft is immeasurably prominent, cycle parking that is secure and convenient is possible. To date we have created 8,694 Bikehangar® cycle parking spaces across London and hold a waitlist of an incredible 20,000 people. Our namesake, the Cyclehoop, converts existing street furniture into cycle parking. Which saves Councils time and money while reducing street clutter. Anthony Lau, architect and award winning Managing Director, designed the Cyclehoop in response to his bicycle being stolen. Its clever design prevents bikes from being lifted over street sign posts. Today over 2,000 Cyclehoops are helping keep bikes secure on streets all over the world.

Reimagining our cities can often appear all about big, glamorous projects. But simple changes, such as providing secure cycle parking can be transformational. Sustrans have recently released important research, shining a light on two clear areas of inequity in the provision of cycle access. Firstly, the issue of parking. It’s fantastic to see the work of colleagues at Sustrans, including Tim Burns Rachel White Rob A. Dan Simpson and others deliver the Cyclehoop funded Residential Cycle Parking Report. A fundamentally important piece of work highlighting the need to ensure all people have ready access to store and park their cycle. ‘We found that just under a third (32%) of people on a low income or not in employment did not have a convenient and secure space to park their cycle at home. This equates to 3.7 million people who are locked out of cycling, despite being those who need it most.’ Local Authorities need to prioritise the provision of secure and accessible cycle parking, prioritising flats and areas of deprivation. This needs to be supported by national government to put in place the required standards and regulations for residential cycle parking. If people have somewhere safe, secure and accessible to store a cycle at home, they are far more likely to have and use one for more of their everyday journeys.
