With so much that has happened during this year, it does feel a bit of a relief that Christmas is now almost here. Which for most businesses means a few days off to relax and spend with family and friends. But this year, just like last and every time since we opened our doors, Cygnia will be open during the festive season. We are on call to help our customers because signs don’t care when they decide to go wrong. The bad weather and steadily deteriorating structure behind a sign are very good at making a sign fail. And, as the festive season can be immensely busy, a falling sign is one of the worst issues a retailer has to deal with. It is also a very serious matter. When anything falls from height people are hurt, sometimes fatally, as a result. Which is why we are open during Christmas. Our job is to help prevent that. Through our expert engineers on call around the UK, we keep your signs above your shops and offices safe, secure and working properly. So if you’re a Cygnia customer, make sure you have our number in your phone incase your signage suffers a mishap during the Christmas break. And if you’re not a Cygnia customer, you need to get in touch with us and we’ll help you to find the best, most cost-effective maintenance way to care for your signage. Have a wonderful festive season, and see you all next year. https://lnkd.in/eSy4AXnB #signmaintenance #helpdesk #safety #retail #maintenance

Ready for Christmas? As we run ever faster towards the end of the year, we all look forward to having a magical end to what has been a pretty tough twelve months. Right now you are focused on having a great Christmas. So we need to remind you about a rather important task you don’t want to leave to chance. While the weather has been largely mild, we have also had a winter snap that saw snow across large parts of the UK - and let’s not forget Storm Bert, which has caused huge disruption. These two weather events alone will have had a real impact on any signage that hasn’t been inspected and maintained over the last few years. That means we expect a busy festive season ahead. During December we get a lot of calls to inspect signage. The cold weather can trigger a domino effect of issues that make signs begin to be a danger to the public. Fixings fail, lights short out, and trims pieces come loose. These health and safety issues are the most common reasons for us attending retail premises. The calls are at the busiest time of year, with shoppers milling about looking for presents. It is the worst time for you to cordon off your frontage and stop people from entering. There is a way for you to avoid this happening. If you haven’t had your signage checked recently, get it inspected at some point during the Christmas season. That way, any problems can be spotted now and resolved straight away. Which means you won’t be having to call us when you are busy, which helps protect your takings. The next step is to place your signage on a maintenance plan. You should have one already as demanded under the Health And Safety At Work Act, The Management Of Health And Safety At Work Regulations, and the Town And Country Planning Act. But aside from this, with Cygnia you can have a care plan that actively keeps your signage both safe and looking amazing. We want to make sure your signage doesn’t become a danger and a risk to your customers and staff. So contact us today to keep your signage working hard during December for a truly happy festive season. https://lnkd.in/gixYwDFY #maintenance #signsafety #safety #signmaintenance #retail

Cold weather and storms make for very unpleasant visitors. Now that we’re heading towards the end of the year we will see more high winds, more driving rain, and the temperatures are going to drop too. If you haven’t had your signage checked yet this year, now is a very good time to do so. Bad weather combined with freezing temperatures will exploit the slightest issue with your signs. Joints will be forced open, seals blown and electrics exposed to damp. With Christmas round the corner it’s the worst time for your sign to fail. Get ahead of the bad weather and have your signage checked in the coming weeks. An inspection by Cygnia will tell you everything about the health of your signage – and give you time to resolve any problems. Find out more about Cygnia’s winter services and how we can help you have a great end to your year. https://lnkd.in/ewSQ4Ux7 #retailsignage #signage #maintenance #signage #signs #signdesign #storefrontsigns #shopsigns #storefront #shopsign #graphics

With the nights getting longer, the lighting in your signage is going to be used a lot more. And that is only going to increase your energy bills. But... if you changed all your signage lighting to LED, you could cut cost of using them by up to 90%. Which could mean a hefty chunk off your electricity bill - and reduce your impact on the environment too. Get in touch now to find out how we have already many retailers cut their energy costs. The last 4 years have been a turbulent time for businesses. It has made us all look hard at how we operate and work with both customers and suppliers. And the brief period but intense period of inflation put real pressure on costs. There was huge pressure on owners to absorb increases – and that still remains largely true today. Even though our services are largely driven by a legal need to maintain properties, we understood that retailers were finding it tough to do so. And so we talked to our customers and found a new way to make signage maintenance more agile and cost-effective – without putting a business at increased risk of breaking the law. https://lnkd.in/e4cmzCnD #signagemaintenance #safety #maintenance #retailmaintenance

The sun is out (sometimes) and the temperature is nice and warm, and all is good in the world. Except for your retail signage, that is. Even during a lovely warm and dryish summer, your sign depends on the condition of its supports to avoid a disaster. And with so many commercial buildings being several decades old, the fascias keeping your signage up can find summer just as much as trial as winter. How do you check your signage and how it is supported? Read about the best approach to check your signage and plan ahead for any work on your frontage. Before it is too late. https://lnkd.in/gjQr8mUa #signage #safety #retailmaintenance
