Our kind-hearted, caring people know the importance of giving back and we’re so proud of everyone that takes advantage of our Volunteering Day to help others all year round. However, there’s something special about the festive period, for most it’s a joyful time but it can also be difficult for many people. Our fantastic people volunteered at food banks, organised toy appeals, delivered food parcels, raised funds for local charities, served Christmas dinners, supported hospitals, put together washbags for the homeless and brought festive cheer by dressing up as Santa’s elves. Nothing was too much and we’re totally overwhelmed with their dedication to bringing smiles to people’s faces through the power of doing good. An amazing £4,500 worth of donations were handed to organisations, some we’ve supported for many years and some new ones, all were gratefully received. This wrapped up our 2024 volunteering work in a festive bow with over 2,700 hours dedicated to supporting local communities. Here’s to more volunteering and fund raising in 2025 and beyond! #PeopleFirst #FestiveCheer #CSR

Our team had the pleasure of helping Birmingham Children’s Hospital spread some festive cheer by becoming Santa and elves to support their Magic Maker charity initiative. Our incredible Santa and elves transformed the hospital entrance into a magical Santa’s grotto. This was an incredible opportunity for our colleagues to get involved and share the holiday spirit with children and parents at the hospital for an afternoon. We would like to thank Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust for the invitation and organising the event. #BetterTogether #Charity #FestiveCheer

For the third year running, Dalkia colleagues have used their volunteering day to plant 300 trees in our Dalkia Facilities woodland in York. Partnering with Make It Wild, we first began to plant trees back in 2022 aiming to plant 1000 by year three. Yesterday, that goal was achieved! Special shoutout to John Taylor who has volunteered his time each year. His experience saw him leading the group, taking only four hours to get the trees firmly in the ground. Make It Wild founder Christopher Neave said, ‘A fabulous team effort all round. Everyone really got stuck in, assisting with moving the equipment and accessories to each planting parcel and pairing up to get the trees safely and professionally in the ground. Thank you, team Dalkia’. A special mention to those who took part, including: The Instant Group Kayleigh Dignam Laura Flynn Steve Harries Jeff Howmans Peter Linnard Louise McDermott Nicolas Pagès Sam Parke Sandip Patel Oliver Sanger-Davies Terry Saunders John Taylor Matt Turner Rebecca Weir #TakingReponsibility #MakeItWild #Volunteering

At Dalkia, our “Better Together” value is all about collaboration - working with clients, our supply chain, and the communities around us to achieve more together. During a recent Directors' health and safety visit at our Derby Business School project, Senior Project Manager, Graham Collins, came up with a fantastic idea: hosting a hog roast for the entire site. The event brought everyone together, providing a great opportunity to thank our teams for their hard work, strengthen our “in it together” culture, and take a moment to connect and recharge. We also used the occasion to raise £180 for MIND, our corporate charity, supporting mental health awareness. A huge thank you to our subcontractor partners who made this possible: 👉 A and A Electrical Services (Jon Lancaster & Anton Sims) 👉 LCS MECHANICAL LIMITED 👉 Map Ventilation.co.uk 👉 Schneider Electric 👉 Linear Insulation 👉 Protec Fire and Security Group 👉 JLS
