Join me on Tuesday 12th November for an intensive session on actionable diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) change. Building Empathy and Understanding: The fishbowl discussion, a core element of the session, exposes leaders to differing perspectives, sharing ideas and challenge. Leaders will be encouraged through the workshop to foster empathy and in doing so, participants will move towards designing DEI initiatives based on real needs, not assumptions. It is only in understanding these needs that leaders will truly start to develop inclusive policies, communication strategies and service delivery models that directly benefit stakeholders and service users. 3. Accountability and Sustainability: The session fosters accountability by encouraging leaders to create action plans with ownership and partner with a peer for support. The peer-to-peer approach is designed to create continuous journey beyond the workshop, where plans are more likely to be implemented – leading to a lasting impact. In focussing on tangible actions and by holding each other accountable, leaders ensure that DEI becomes a core value embedded within the organisation, creating a sustainable shift that stakeholders and service users will experience over time. Through this multi-pronged approach, the session empowers leaders to move beyond rhetoric and translate DEI principles into tangible actions. This, in turn, leads to a more inclusive organisation that better reflects the needs of its diverse stakeholders and service users.
