Today we have been proud to present a #DigitalDorset showcase to dozens of representatives from industry, government and higher education. At our fantastic Battlelab, the council’s Digital Place team hosted an event to show how digital projects are making a real difference to connectivity, jobs, education and growth right here in #Dorset. The event has demonstrated how the public sector and private sector can combine and make change happen. Here’s just a few highlights that were discussed today: • How the 5G Rural Dorset project’s legacy has created important partnerships with Dorset Council and industry. • Government funded projects in Dorset have the potential to transform the roll-out of mobile networks and bring high speed connectivity to even the most rural areas. • A local success story of Wessex Internet, which has grown rapidly and now bringing gigabit full fibre across southern England. • How international inward investment into Dorset will see AI robots removing ragwort from our farms more efficiently and in a more environmentally friendly way. • The opportunities the Dorset Innovation Park and Battlelab can provide in generating economic growth and innovation. • And how working with schools is the key to getting more of our young people into STEM careers. #DigitalDorsetShowcase #Innovation #DigitalSkills #EconomicGrowth #JobCreation
