Subscription is the buzz word in automotive and I was interested to read the article from Fleet News - Younger drivers ‘most likely’ to take a car on subscription (fleetnews.co.uk) When we first started Drive Fuze in 2022, all the research that we undertook validated that 35-45 year old age group were ‘most likely’ to be our target market for a subscription product. 18 months of delivering a subscription product to a market with different definitions of what subscription is , we have found that drivers aged 38+ are more likely to subscribe and better understand the advantages of a subscription-based agreement compared to PCP or leasing. In our own research we discovered that this age bracket makes up over 70% of our subscribers and they tend to keep a car for longer, helping to build a larger pool of subscriber advocates. All of our customers appreciate that an all-inclusive solution best meets the needs of 21st century driving, with more people working in remote or hybrid roles and the ongoing challenges of the cost of living. Long gone are the days of ownership and keeping a car on a long-term basis, whether that’s outright purchase, leasing or a PCP arrangement. They want a usership solution that offers a flexible solution with their lifestyle and financial needs.
