We're switching off for Earth Hour 🌎 On the 22nd March, at 8.30pm, people around the world switch off their lights for an hour to show support for our planet 🔦 This year people are going further and giving an hour for the earth by doing something positive for the planet, and it's so easy to take part! You could take part in a local beach clean, spend time outside with family, educate yourself by watching a nature documentary, or simply turn off the lights in your home for an hour 💡 Switch off. About us
Dundee Science Centre is a charity and lifelong learning resource for the community. We are here to help families learn together, to support the formal school curriculum, advance the science communication profession, bring together science and the public and help others to do the same. Our outreach work and festivals also help us take the same experiences out into communities and across Scotland. Throughout the year our exhibitions and programmes provide inspiring, hands on learning experiences.

Working alongside our community partner St Mary’s Primary School, we aim to inspire and co-create experiences that children and their families can share in together, improving their sense of belonging, expanding curiosity and confidence to participate and explore our different programmes, that include holiday STEM Clubs and family fun afternoons!
ASDC has awarded 12 members grants of £4,000 and £9,500 to participate in the new Explore Your Universe: Valuing Inclusion project, funded by STFC. The Valuing Inclusion Theory of Change is specifically relevant for lower science capital audiences, who face multiple barriers to participation in STEM. This piece of work comes from the last 7 years of work across the network and is supported by STFC to promote equity and inclusion for it's many benefits for individuals and society, and as the key to unlocking more diverse participation in STEM research, development, industry and innovation for the future of the UK. In this programme, the developed ASDC Theory of Change is being used as a sector tool guiding practice towards impactful and measurable inclusive STEM outcomes. Each project will be co-developed with a chosen community partner with bespoke content foregrounding the latest in STFC science, stories and people. Congratulations to the following 12 organisations: Aberdeen Science Centre Dynamic Earth Dundee Science Centre Explorer Dome International Centre for Life Kielder Observatory Astronomical Society National Space Centre Royal Astronomical Society STEM Discovery Centre Wonderseekers W5 Belfast Xplore! Science Discovery Centre Delivery of the engagements will take place between March and October 2025. We can't wait to see what brilliant work they do with their community partnerships! 🌌 🔭 ✨ https://lnkd.in/eKfqJrRt
