ELAROS’S 5th LONG COVID WEBINAR Dear colleagues,   I am very excited to announce ELAROS’s 5th Long Covid webinar which will take place this Wednesday to support clinical services, commissioning bodies, and research teams better deliver for people with Long Covid worldwide.   The event is open to an international audience of healthcare professionals, with attendees joining us from the United Kingdom, Australia, Republic of Ireland, and North America. The webinar wills share learning on how NHS services are evolving to build a legacy from Long Covid to support patients in primary care, community care, and care at home, whether that be through conventional Long Covid support services, integrated services for multiple long-term conditions, or through a publicly accessible mobile app which ELAROS will launch this week.    Our webinar will be delivered by 3 speakers:   Lorraine Perry, Practitioner/Service Lead ME/CFS & Post Covid19 Assessment Services, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust who will present plans to deliver an integrated service for ME/CFS and Long Covid   Jeremy (Jez) Gee, Long Covid Clinical Pathway Co-ordinator and Community Advanced Practitioner, Airedale and Bradford NHS Trusts, who will share case studies on how Airedale is adapting its Long Covid model approach to serve a wider community   Román Rocha Lawrence, Director of Research and Development at ELAROS 24/7 Limited 24/7 Ltd, who will announce an invitation to English NHS Trusts to join a national service evaluation with The University of Leeds and the Clinical Post Covid Society and the launch of a standalone version of our C19-YRS app for the public this week.   The event is sold out ahead of time but any colleagues looking to attend can request access to the recording by emailing c19-yrs@elaros.com   I look forward to sharing news on our latest product launch in the coming weeks which aims to break down the barriers to patients with Long Covid accessing support anywhere in the world. ✨ New Team Member joining ELAROS✨ We are very excited to have Blesson Ezra join the team at ELAROS. Blesson initially joined us last summer for Summer Placement, before returning to The University of Sheffield to finish his Bioengineering MEng specialising in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering and completing his Final Year Project on spider silk. We caught up with Blesson to see how he's getting on and to find out what he was most excited for in the coming months. 1. What are you looking forward to about working at ELAROS? I'm excited about the opportunity for collaboration. Whether it's being part of the ELAROS team, where everyone contributes their strengths towards a common goal, or working with new researchers and organisations, I’m keen to collaborate in shaping the future of digital health. 2. Could you share what experience you have garnered throughout your time at university that you are bringing to this role? My MEng in Bioengineering gave me a solid background in both innovation and clinical needs. Working with academics at the University of Sheffield and the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre sharpened my skills in research and medical device development. I look forward to applying this experience to help develop products, research conditions and contribute to commercialisation at ELAROS. 3. Tell us something about yourself. Do you have any hobbies or passions? JOINT LECTURE SESSION THIS MORNING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF OULU, FINLAND, WITH MY CLOSE FRIEND DR GIANLUIGI TIBERI UBT CO-FOUNDER Dear Colleagues, It was a real honour and a pleasure to do a joint lecture session this morning at the University of Oulu, Finland with my close friend Dr Gianluigi Tiberi, Inventor and Co-founder of Umbria Bioengineering Technologies (UBT). The lecture was organised through the ROVER 2020 EU, one of the projects funded by the European Community under #H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions MSCA-RISE-2019. RISE projects promote international and cross-sectoral collaboration between participating organisations through exchanges of R&I staff and the sharing of knowledge and ideas. A very special thanks to Jari Iinatti and Matti Hämäläinen for their kind hospitality at the University of Oulu and we hope to be able to reciprocate when they travel to the UK next year. Dear Colleagues, It was a real honour and a pleasure to meet five outstanding health-tech companies based in Oulu, Finland today at the fabulous Oulu Technopolis building. The intensive programme took in breakfast, presentations, 1-2-1 meetings between ELAROS and each of the Oulu companies and concluded with lunch. A very special thanks once again to the OuluHealth ecosystem for putting on this excellent programme today and in particular to Joanna Seppänen and Heidi Tikanmäki. 🌟 Summer Intern Spotlight 🌟 This week we would like to introduce to you Abdul Raheem Nazir who has joined us for the Software Quality Assurance Internship 👩💻 Abdul is a final year BSc (Honours) Computer Science student at Sheffield Hallam University. His interest lie in seeking new opportunities and is dedicated to always learning and improving. His passion lies in creating unique, high-quality software that serves it's purpose as efficiently as possible.   During the Covid-19 pandemic, he volunteered at his local community pharmacy working under the NHS, distributing Covid-19 testing kits, prescriptions, and medications. This experience gave him a profound sense of purpose and duty to serve those who cannot help themselves. Over time, Abdul developed a passion for creating software to automate and solve everyday problems, while maintaining his interest in the healthcare industry.   His interests is is what has drawn him to ELAROS, and will give him a chance to combine his two interests—innovative solutions and healthcare—to make a real difference in the world. 🌟 Summer Intern Spotlight 🌟 This week we would like to introduce to you Davide Righi who has been selected for the Digital Marketing Internship and join us full-time for a month on Monday 👩💻 Davide has just finished his first year studying Bioengineering (BEng) at Loughborough University. He has been drawn to bioengineering both due to his personal interests and the multidisciplinary nature of the degree whilst learning more about biological processes. His first year has exposed him to a broad range of modules such as computer aided design, electronics and materials science and he has enjoyed conducting research into cell cultures and material testing for biomedical applications. As a digital marketing intern at ELAROS, he will have the chance to learn about the company and the digital healthcare industry, as well as getting the chance to build many valuable relationships with the team.
