This weekend, I had the opportunity to visit our patients in France to check on their progress and explore ways to improve their experience. It was the first time in years that we had seven patients at the residence at the same time. I started my visits at the hospital where Lord Gareth Cunningham and Tony Brown have been admitted Friday 7th for full hip replacement. I was impressed to see them walking with crutches by Saturday morning, and I had the chance to speak with Dr. Rouanet, who is looking to discharge them on Monday afternoon. I had productive conversations with the nurses, Dr. Rouanet, and the rest of the staff, gathering their feedback and suggestions on how we can improve again the patient journey. I then visited the residency and had a good conversation with Fraser Black and his wife. Fraser had a hip resurfacing and is doing well; in fact, he was biking just seven days after surgery. Tony left today following his knee replacement, with a flexion between 90° and 100° just 15 days post-surgery. Well done. He will now be followed by Dr. Stewart to address his queries and follow the healing. Next, I spoke with Justin Mottaz, who had been experiencing pain since his physio session two days ago, especially during the night. Same story than Nigel Foster and Greg Pryme who also noted an increase of pain during the night. He is now 13 days post-surgery and needs to rest before returning to physio session. Our entire team is fully mobilized to assist him on his road to recovery, and I am personally focusing on his case. I will leave no stone unturned in ensuring his full recovery. I also met Michael and his wife who is scheduled to begin his process next week. Additionally, I met with the nursing team to discuss the daily visits to patients' apartments and the potential of developping system for more efficient communication. I’ve learned a lot from this experience, and it’s clear that patient feedback is essential to making Elite Surgery Abroad a high quality standard. For example, I learned that some patients prefer a firm mattress, while others like a softer one. The size and length of the beds matter, and we can’t have the same bed in every apartment. I’m committed to addressing these concerns promptly and have asked my team, especially Susan and Louise, to stay focused on finding solutions to any queries you might have. It is completely understandable that the excellent care provided should be paired with a pleasant convalescence at the residence. Thank you for your trust.
