As we draw the curtains on the 4th and final workshop of the Autumn "Empowering Women to Lead Digital Transformation - Scotland" program, it's a good opportunity to reflect on how far this cohort has come already in such a short period of time. Despite never having met each other before their first workshop in September, they have really connected as a group and brought an amazing energy and genuine curiosity to every session, coupled with deep insights on a whole range of different topics and issues. The importance of reflecting on your successes and how you achieved them, as well as ensuring those around you recognise their own achievements was also a theme from our guest speaker of the day, iomart's Katie McCarron. Katie brought her own authentic leadership journey to life for the group and with her session also touching on the importance of curiosity in leaders, it really felt like the perfect natural end for this part of the program. We're looking forward to seeing the cohort again on the 27th of November for their graduation in Edinburgh and can't wait to see the outputs of their "challenge" project work! What a positive and energising start it's been to the final round of workshops in the Autumn 2024 "Empowering Women to Lead" programs! We're back in Glasgow to kick things off and delighted to be joined by STV Group plc's Head of News and Current Affairs, Linda Grimes as our guest speaker for the day. Linda shared her leadership journey with the Scotland cohort which included key messages around the inevitability of change and how to embrace it, the importance of authenticity in leadership and being comfortable in your own skin, and the importance of allies, mentorship and being prepared to ask for help and what you need, when you need it. Many thanks again to Linda and all the participants for making this another empowering and inspiring day. That's a wrap folks! Well, for now at least. Today's brilliant session in Belfast not only marks the end of this first stage in the journey for our "Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security" cohort in Northern Ireland, it's also the last of our Autumn programs to reach that point. Over the past two weeks, the Empowering You team have been in Glasgow, London, Manchester and now Belfast, welcoming over 80 female InfoSec leaders from across the UK into the initiative. We've been blown away by the progress that the group has made over the past couple of days and we're already looking forward to seeing them again next month when we'll be back in Belfast for round two. A big thanks to John Ferris and the Entrepreneur Accelerator Hub team in Ulster Bank for hosting us so well over the past couple of days, we felt right at home as always. What a brilliant start it's been for the new "Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security - Northern Ireland" program! It's been a year since we were last in Belfast and it's been incredible to be back with all the energy, warmth and humour that programs here always bring to the room. A special thanks to our guest speaker of day one, the always inspiring Rachelle Reid, who shared her leadership journey with the group. Rachelle was a graduate from our very first Northern Ireland cohort and it's always something special to have an opportunity to reconnect and hear how their story has developed. Looking forward to day two and continuing this journey with our amazing cohort of cyber leaders! It's been a busy few weeks for the Empowering You team, with Autumn "Empowering Women to Lead..." programs launching across the UK, but a special mention has to be made for another of our initiatives which kicked of yesterday... "Women in Cyber - Leading change in the public sector" is a special initiative, run on a virtual basis by Empowering You on behalf of The Scottish Government, which has been specifically designed for female InfoSec professionals looking to develop their leadership capabilities and realise their potential. The programs are run virtually so that they can be accessed by those women who are unable to attend traditional in-person programs due to barriers around location, care commitments, health related challenges or other accessibility issues. Yesterday was the launch of our third "Women in Cyber" cohort and we're delighted to welcome this latest cohort to the initiative and looking forward to working with them all over the coming months. It's always a big occasion for the Empowering You team when we can welcome back a past graduate from the "Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security" program as a guest speaker. So Friday's second-day session in Manchester was special on a number of levels, when we had the privilege of hearing from CrowdStrike's Emma Jones on how her leadership journey and wide range of experiences had shaped how she viewed and approached her own approach to leadership. It was an amazing few days in Manchester (as it usually is) and we're looking forward to being back in the room with this inspiring group of leaders again in November. What an amazing start we had yesterday to the "Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security - Northern England" program at the Digital Security Hub (DiSH) in Manchester! The North of England has really delivered again with another brilliant cohort of dynamic, curious and engaging cyber leaders from across the region, meaning the energy in the room has been a phenomenal. We were delighted to be joined by the always inspiring Heather Lowrie FCIIS, who shared her leadership journey with the cohort, alongside some of the invaluable lessons she's learned along the way. The Q&A afterwards continued well into the lunch, so there was clearly a lot of ground to cover... Day two has already kicked off and we can't wait to see what it holds! Recognising the importance of authenticity in leadership and staying true to your values. Having the courage to ask for what you want and what you need, regardless of how vulnerable that makes you feel. Using your seat at the table to champion others. All of these lessons and much more were up for discussion in our brilliant guest speaker session today from Bridewell's CFO Ruth Billen at the "Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security - London & Southern England" session. As day two draws to a close, we can reflect on how much ground has already been covered with this inspirational group of InfoSec leaders, but also look ahead to what waits in store when we see them again in November, which can't come soon enough!
