Shopping shouldn’t be a struggle. Yet, with 70% of websites still inaccessible for millions of disabled customers, it often is. We believe we can all #DoBetter, together. On Purple Tuesday, 12 November, we are celebrating digital inclusion by bringing customers unbeatable deals on EnableAll.com, where accessible shopping is more than a promise - it’s a commitment. When you sell with us, you’re choosing a better, more accessible shopping experience for everyone, no matter their needs. The discounts will last from 12 November - 17 November, so there really is no better time to get involved before the festive season shopping rush. https://lnkd.in/dYvhQ3ua

Mario. Luigi. Original passed me by. In fact I was opted out of video games by the industry at that time. Very difficult when you only have one finger. Tongue. And nose as the control operators. To optimise their use. It meant I was at an angle where my eyes couldn’t see the screen. Might be adaptable but there are limits to my contortions. Must admit that video games. And the wider gaming industry have really started to embrace accessibility. They fully understand the need to put the end user. Their experience. At the heart of success. Rewarded by a growing share of the disability market. Don’t always have to participate to admire. As I write realise accessibility was not the direct purpose of this post but the dots can be joined up and salvaged. My 11 year old son has a birthday coming up. We have been struggling generally to work out his motivation levers. The right combination of carrots and sticks. But the opportunity to pre-order the latest game. To be ahead of peers. Is clearly a bullseye. As you know I am the Founder and Creator of EnableAll. It puts accessibility at the heart of online shopping. As others will testify putting accessibility front and centre can be a hard slog. Many don’t make it. We have finally started to get traction. And pre-order games have been a leading product. With toys and brand fashion now following behind. This year we are not doing Black Friday. But a six day Purple Tuesday discount campaign. #EnableAll was an online accessibility commitment which came as an idea out of #PurpleTuesday when it started seven years ago. They say good things take time. My patience has been tested way beyond getting to grips with a games console. Not asking you to change your shopping preference habits but please take a look. Set up an account in less than two minutes and you never know. Perhaps that could be your personal commitment to Purple Tuesday this year. Help us to move from most accessible to fully accessible. My son will do his part. #MarioAndLuigiBrothership is in the basket for its release this week. Make a commitment Tuesday. #VideoGames #Gaming #Accessibility #DisabilityAllies #Allyship #DoBetter #DisabilityConversation31 #BeASue Image Description: A still image from the new Mario and Luigi video game which is being released this week. In a world that celebrates progress and innovation, it's easy to overlook the gaps that still exist when it comes to true inclusivity. We often hear about equal rights and opportunities, yet millions of people with disabilities continue to face barriers that go unnoticed or unaddressed. The journey toward a truly inclusive society is far from complete. As we navigate these complexities, it's crucial to shift our focus from occasional acts of recognition to consistent, everyday efforts that ensure everyone, regardless of their abilities, has a seat at the table. Let’s explore how we can turn inclusivity from a buzzword into a daily reality. #EnableAll #ExclusivelyInclusive #DisabilityAwareness #Paralympics2024 Mike Adams Tanni Grey-Thompson Channel 4 Image source: Ⓒ Richard Heathcote/Getty Images

You might be wondering why we don’t use a lot of emojis in our content. Did you know that screen reader technologies will read out each emoji’s name when it sits within any text? A simple emoji could read out as ‘smiling face with smiling eyes’ which can be overwhelming if multiple emojis have been used. This is why we limit our emoji usage to when we’re trying to convey an idea or thought and try to avoid using multiple emojis. You can find out more about the accessibility adjustments and tools available while you browse at www.EnableAll.com.  Video description: In time with the tune and the store bell chime, a split black and white background has a 'thinking face' emoji in the centre. Text at the top reads, 'Evers wondered why we don't use many emojis?'. This changes to a black background with white text reading, 'Screen readers announce emoji names like 'smiling face with smiling eyes'. Then the text reads, 'So, sharing multiple emojis in a post can be overwhelming.' followed by text reading 'Did you know this fact?'. Finally, in time with the tune and store bell chime the EnableAll logo appears on screen in black and pink. The logo's pink dot rolls in from the right of the video and stops behind the ‘ALL’ text of the EnableAll logo. #EnableAll #WorldEmojiDay #SocialMediaAccessibility
