    Ninjas in Pyjamas parent company NIP Group has launched a game publishing division. It will focus on ‘esports-oriented titles, as well as developing mini-games for social media platforms, mobile games, and PC games’. Mario Ho, the Chairman and Co-CEO of NIP Group, said: "Our entry into the game publishing marks an exciting milestone for NIP Group. This move is a natural extension of our vision to deliver comprehensive and immersive entertainment experiences. We are eager to introduce innovative, captivating games to the market and are confident that this new venture will drive significant growth and further success fir our company."     Coleg Cambria Deeside opens new £230,000 esports facility Lisa Radcliffe, Assistant Principal for Technical Studies, said the facility has state-of-the-art equipment and technology – including 36 Yoyotech high-spec stations featuring the latest I7 Intel processors and RTX4070 graphics cards – to 'secure Cambria’s position as a pioneer of esports education in the UK'. The college’s own esports squad – Cambria Chimeras – were also victorious in the Apex Legends Spring Cup earlier this year, defeating opposition from across the country, including college and university teams.     The UK and Australian-based Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has announced its Global Esports Summit (EGES) 2024 is moving away from London. The first two annual events took place at the Excel London convention centre in 2022 and 2023, and now the esports industry conference will make its USA debut for 2024. This year’s summit is set to run alongside DreamHack Atlanta. It will take place on October 3rd and 4th this year at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Presented by ESL FACEIT Group - EFG, the summit will be hosted in a dedicated conference venue within the Georgia World Congress Center, running concurrently with DreamHack Atlanta. All EGES attendees will gain access to the DreamHack festival, which kicks off on the second day of the summit. The EGES aims to allow stakeholders to discuss, debate and address pressing issues facing the sector. It will bring together industry leaders including publishers, tournament organisers, teams, media professionals and non-endemic partners. Stephen Hanna, ESIC’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are excited to bring the ESIC Global Esports Summit to the United States for the first time. As the esports industry continues to grow and evolve at an unprecedented pace, it is essential that we create spaces where industry leaders can come together to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.” #esports #esic #esl #conference

    Esports Scotland has been acquired It has been acquired by David Hamilton and will operate under the eRena Sports brand. The Scottish esports body, which has been largely dormant since delaying its Scottish Esports League last year and working to pay back those it owes, made the announcement today. Dundee-based entrepreneur David Hamilton is a board member at game developer Ninja Kiwi, and a majority shareholder of eRena Sports, which ran an eScottish Football Cup last year. David said in an announcement: "The expanded entity, which will operate under the eRena Sports brand, has ambitions to build a significant presence in both grassroots and professional esports in Scotland and beyond."     The Teamfight Tactics (TFT) team representing English Premier League Football Club, Wolves, have won the TFT Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024. They defeated South Korean esports organisation T1 in the grand final yesterday, after losing the first round to win three on a bounce and claim the trophy with a 3-1 scoreline. Wolves’ Chinese TFT team consisted of Sheltie, YGQF, Serein and LiShao, with the latter named tournament MVP. The TFT Esports World Cup had a $550,000 prize pool, with Wolves taking $200,000 and 1,000 EWC Club Points for finishing first. LiShao took an additional $50,000 for being named MVP. Caster Stuart Gilson said on the broadcast: “Wolves came into this as the lowest expected [team from China to go beyond the group stage], but I feel the underdog story for Wolves Esports is incredible.” There's more on our website #esports #esportsworldcup #wolves #wolvesesports #tft

Hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh At Kingdom Centre on August 24th to 25th 2024, the conference's second edition will discuss the work achieved and what is still required for the inaugural Olympic Esports Games.     Guild Esports board is 'reviewing the strategic direction of the company'. It's considering selling assets or being acquired. In an update posted this morning, the UK esports organisation said they have £25,000 in cash as at July 31st 2024. They owe £1.36m until the end of September, and are owed £1.52m. Guild are exploring options to meet their short-term debts, including securing additional funding, negotiating improved payment terms with creditors, and further cost reduction initiatives.
