The UK and Australian-based Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has announced its Global Esports Summit (EGES) 2024 is moving away from London. The first two annual events took place at the Excel London convention centre in 2022 and 2023, and now the esports industry conference will make its USA debut for 2024. This year’s summit is set to run alongside DreamHack Atlanta. It will take place on October 3rd and 4th this year at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Presented by ESL FACEIT Group - EFG, the summit will be hosted in a dedicated conference venue within the Georgia World Congress Center, running concurrently with DreamHack Atlanta. All EGES attendees will gain access to the DreamHack festival, which kicks off on the second day of the summit. The EGES aims to allow stakeholders to discuss, debate and address pressing issues facing the sector. It will bring together industry leaders including publishers, tournament organisers, teams, media professionals and non-endemic partners. Stephen Hanna, ESIC’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are excited to bring the ESIC Global Esports Summit to the United States for the first time. As the esports industry continues to grow and evolve at an unprecedented pace, it is essential that we create spaces where industry leaders can come together to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.” #esports #esic #esl #conference

🏆 Over the past decade, the esports landscape has undergone a remarkable transformation. In 2011, Valve corporation's $1.6 million prize pool for The International seemed groundbreaking. Today, million-dollar prize pools have become the norm for major tournaments. Last year alone, 51 events boasted prize pools of over $1 million, an increase of 41% over the previous five years. The trend keeps climbing. In 2021, Valve set a new record with a jaw-dropping $40 million #TheInternational prize pool for a single event. Saudi Esports Federation upped the ante with a $45 million #Gamers8 esports festival featuring 16 premier tournaments across 13 titles. With the #EsportsWorldCup on the horizon, this year will likely witness yet another record. To date, the #EWC has announced major tournaments across 10 titles with multi-million dollar prize pools. While hefty prize pools undeniably generate buzz, attract viewers, and motivate players, they can't be the sole pillar of success. There's no one-size-fits-all formula in esports. Often, the most popular events with the highest viewership figures aren't necessarily those with the largest prize pools. 💰 Does the astronomical investment in prize money truly justify the cost and keep sustainable growth? Only time will provide the answer.

The Esports World Cup Foundation, the organizer of the Esports World Cup set to take place in Saudi Arabia in 2024, has announced a program to support esports teams and organizations. Named the EWC Club Program, the initiative aims to promote sustainability for multidisciplinary esports clubs, enabling them to expand teams and establish new rosters. The Foundation has established an application process for interested teams to apply before the deadline on February 15th. The program will be open to a total of 28 esports organizations worldwide, with 22 receiving direct invitations, leaving only six slots for applicants. Interested organizations are required to have a track record with a long-term strategy in the esports industry and a demonstrated ability to build teams in one or more esports titles. Organizations accepted into the program will be eligible for an annual six-figure payout, although specific criteria for this incentive have not been provided. The program aims to provide teams with the funds to create multiple rosters that can compete in the Esports World Cup, but being part of the program does not guarantee a spot in the tournament. Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, commented: "The EWC Club Program enables clubs to build a sustainable pipeline for growth of both their existing teams and additional programs. Our goal is to help the clubs we collaborate with increase their brand visibility, compete in a world-class competition, and elevate esports as a global sport. #ESNI #ESNInfo #EWCClubProgram #EWC #EWC2024 #esportsworldcup #Saudiaraba

Driving Esports Growth: Empowering Teams, Brands and Football Clubs through Education and Market Expansion
𝗦𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝘁𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀? Valve just announced they're hosting this year's International for Dota 2 in the Danish capital, marking only the third time it's been held in Europe. At first, I was a bit surprised by the location choice and wondered if there was some kind of N0tail factor involved, you know, since he's a bit of a legend of the game, having lucked out twice at TI (wonder how many of you thought I was serious with this comment) But then I remembered Copenhagen has “low-key” hosted some major esports events in recent years like: 🔹 BLAST Premier Fall Final 🔸 BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen 2023 🔹 FIFAe Club World Cup 2022 🔸 VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen We are honestly in for a treat. The top Dota 2 teams will compete at the Royal Arena this September, while the CS2 Major, hosted by PGL, will take place in the same venue later this month. The two most prestigious events in each of those games happening this year in the same city? That’s kind of exciting. With that being said, if Valve announced the location for next year's TI, what city would make you say "Shut up and take my money, I'm going no matter what!"? Image: dota2.com

Strategic exit from Valorant and repositioning of AEX-1 in esports Since the inception of the Valorant Challengers DACH league two years ago, AEX-1 has been an integral part of the DACH Valorant scene. Our mission has always been to give young talents the opportunity to compete with the best at the highest level and to develop themselves further. As a Swiss team, we have aimed to represent the southern region in this competition in the best possible way. Despite not always succeeding against the strong competition, we have always defended the title of "the Undescendables". After extensive analysis and in light of the changing esports landscape in the DACH region, including the end of the ESL Gaming era, we have decided to transfer our hashtag #Valorant division and the associated Challengers DACH league spot to Eintracht Frankfurt Esports. This step marks a pause in our Esports activities for the time being. This strategic decision allows us to reposition ourselves and develop a future-oriented strategy to respond to the ever-changing challenges and opportunities in esports. We remain passionate about esports and are determined to re-engage in the future of esports with a clear plan and new partnerships. We sincerely thank all of our players, staff, partners and our loyal AEX-1 fans for their continued support and dedication. We appreciate your passion and look forward to coming back stronger than ever! #AEXEED #esports #gaming #DACH #Switzerland GameDAO propads.gg BORTOLI Ltd.
