About us

etc.venues is part of the Convene portfolio of brands. The company was founded in 1992 by Sally Wilton. After working as a corporate trainer, Wilton saw an opportunity to reimagine what she saw as poorly-serviced, old fashioned training venues. She opened the first etc.venues location at Avonmouth House, South London as a purpose-built venue built with the end users in mind. In 2006, after nearly 15 years of successfully delivering best-in-class training and event experiences, the company drew the attention of a private equity firm that led to further investments into the etc.venues business, ultimately growing its footprint across London and into Manchester, Birmingham, and New York City. In February 2023, etc.venues was acquired by Convene, a global hospitality company that designs and manages premium meeting, event, and flexible workspaces, forming the largest single provider of dedicated meeting and event venues in the US and UK with a network of 38 locations across nine cities.

    Meet Karine Aubry-Breuers, the Senior Events Manager at etc.venues Prospero House. Leading a dedicated team, which includes the Event Manager and Events Coordinator, Karine is responsible for overseeing all events hosting more than 100 delegates. Since joining the company in February 2023, Karine has quickly established herself as a key driving force behind the venue’s recent success, bringing fresh energy and expertise to her role. Despite her relatively short tenure, she has already made a lasting impact. Karine's journey in the events industry began 20 years ago when she moved from France to Scotland, starting her career in event management at a hotel in Edinburgh. Since then, she has travelled the world and worn many hats, from planning weddings to managing large-scale projects for up to 35,000 attendees at ExCel. Before joining our team, Karine thrived as the Restaurant Manager at The Family Kitchen & Shop, the flagship restaurant at Kew Gardens. Her diverse background and impressive skill set make Karine an invaluable asset to etc.venues Prospero House, as she continues to build strong, lasting relationships with clients (many of whom return). With a steadfast commitment to delivering excellence, Karine consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every event she manages is a roaring success.
