Have you heard the term ‘Greenhushing’? Greenhushing is a growing trend among businesses, where they intentionally limit communication about their environmental plans to avoid accusations of greenwashing. Greenhushing poses a risk for transparency in the market, as corporations limiting communication about their environmental initiatives may hinder consumers seeking more responsible products and services, undermining their ability to make informed and sustainable choices. #Greenhushing #Transparency #EnvironmentalInitiatives #CorporateResponsibility

Verified sustainability claims. Empowering brands and consumers to act for a more sustainable future.
About us
The comprehensive sustainability solution for growing businesses that seamlessly combines verification with streamlined regulatory compliance and impactful communications. Today, a whopping 40% of UK consumers are choosing to buy from brands that have a positive impact on people and the planet. However, 80% of consumers don't trust unverified sustainability claims due to widespread greenwashing. Yet, many of the existing certifications do not provide shoppers with clear and meaningful guidance in choosing environmentally superior products. To resolve these issues, ethy offers a third-party verification of a brand’s credentials. For brands to provide consumers with clear guidance on sustainable options, ethy turns the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals into a roadmap through transparent sustainability standards. The holistic sustainability standards were developed with leading organisations such as Carbon Neutral Britain, Efeca, Edinburgh University Innovations, and Social Enterprise UK. A simple and affordable assessment process results in the brand receiving a cohesive set of consumer-friendly ecolabels, each one representing a specific sustainability achievement. To help businesses thrive, ethy also provides sustainability workshops and promotional opportunities via the UK’s No.1 rated* consumer app for sustainable shopping. *2022 iOS and App Store ratings data.

Deodorant has been a mainstay for most of us since our teenage years. We all know that sweating is a completely natural process, but deodorant helps us to feel fresh and smell clean, which is an important part of self-care for many people. However, while the products we’ve come to rely on are good for stopping the stink, they’re not so great for our bodies, or even the planet. Traditional antiperspirant deodorants work by blocking pores to prevent sweating with chemicals like aluminium and parabens. These are often linked to health concerns such as breast cancer, and although there’s no conclusive evidence that this is the case, they can lead to dryness and rashes, as well as staining on clothing. And in aerosol form, they’re toxic to the environment. But in the past few years, the deodorant industry has seen a significant shift. A raft of eco-conscious brands have launched altogether more sustainable deodorant options, while existing personal care companies have made changes to their formulations or packaging to try to mitigate the impact of their products. #NaturalDeodorant #SustainableLiving #CleanBeauty

ethy verified MERRI Intimates was launched by three women tired of constant thrush and UTIs exacerbated by synthetic fibres found in underwear, but weren’t happy with the frumpy cotton options on the market. Their range of sleek and sexy styles is made from GOTS and OEKO-TEX-certified organic cotton, allowing for better breathability and happier skin. With no granny pants in sight, you don’t have to choose between comfort and confidence. #OrganicCotton #ethyverified
