Eurofins Electrical and Electronics (E&E) has joined an IoT task force formed by the IoT M2M Council, the largest trade association dedicated to the IoT sector, and the Global Certification Forum (GCF) to evaluate global cybersecurity certification processes for IoT devices and services, and help protect the privacy of consumers and the reputation of stakeholders in the IoT supply chain. Our colleague and the Wireless Strategy and Cybersecurity Director of Eurofins Electrical & Electronics, Thami El Idrissi, is a key contributor to this initiative and is at the forefront of the development of global cybersecurity standards. Our colleagues at AQL EMC, part of the E&E UK network of laboratories, collaborated with Benchmark Space Systems to test the Xantus Metal Plasma Thruster. Each Xantus unit delivers up to 1mN of thrust using quasineutral pulsed plasmas created from solid metal propellant, with the potential to generate radiated electrical noise. To enable accurate measurement, AQL provided expertise in helping to characterize the setup, including accounting for glass jar and Molybdenum deposition attenuation and performing EMC test sweeps through the glass jar across common S/C S-band, X-band and GPS frequencies.
