  • At Eurostar, we make sure that diversity, equity and inclusion is part of everything we do - and we’re taking action to ensure that women have the support and opportunities they need to succeed. 🙌💼 We’re proud of the initiatives we have in place to foster a more equitable and supportive workplace for women. We’re committed to progress on gender pay equity and are excited to announce that our 2024 gender pay gap in the UK is now 9,7%, down 6,2% from 2023 (the national average being 13,1%). We’re working on the numbers for our other offices. Last year, we launched a Women's Mentoring Program as a pilot, with incredibly positive results. Based on the success of this program, we are looking at how we can expand it to offer even more colleagues the chance to benefit from mentorship, career guidance, and networking. Our Women’s Network, made up of passionate volunteers, works on driving change and creating a culture where all voices are heard and valued. At Eurostar, we continue to focus on creating a workplace that supports and empowers women.

  • 🌟 Meet Zelda, our Chief Rolling Stock Officer 🌟   “As Chief Rolling Stock Officer at Eurostar, I’m responsible for overseeing the teams that maintain and manage our fleet of 51 high-speed trains, ensuring they’re safe, reliable, and ready to connect passengers across Europe. My role involves regular travel between London, Paris, and Brussels, where I work closely with depot teams and contribute to Eurostar’s strategic direction.   I started my career in rail straight after my engineering studies, initially working in infrastructure management in Paris. Those early days were spent ‘with my feet in the ballast’, mostly working nights – a challenging but rewarding experience. Over the years, I’ve taken on roles in operational leadership, and now I’m proud to lead the team responsible for Eurostar’s rolling stock operations.   One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing how rail connects people and cultures across Europe. At Eurostar, we’re strongly committed to safety and delivering an excellent passenger experience, no matter where we operate.   As I reflect on my journey, I’d encourage more women to explore careers in rail. This industry offers endless opportunities for growth and challenge, and I’m proud to mentor the next generation. Eurostar is dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion, and we actively encourage women to apply for roles across our network.”

  • This week, our Women's Network hosted a powerful Women’s Day event to spark meaningful conversations and drive action toward gender equity within Eurostar. 🌍💡 The afternoon kicked off with some light snacks and inspiring words from our CEO, Gwendoline Cazenave: “Today is about more than just celebrating women - it’s about committing to actions that empower, uplift, and create opportunities for all. Your voice matters, and your participation in shaping our future is invaluable.” A panel discussion featuring our colleagues Leila Banyard, Simon Lejeune, Hayley Farrar and our CEO, and hosted by Kaya Cheshire, our Women's Network Chair, explored topics like breaking gender barriers, offering mentorship, and fostering inclusive workplaces, providing valuable insights for career development and leadership. A huge thank you to everyone who joined in to contribute to this important conversation and to the 186 people attending this event in particular. Together, we are working toward a future where everyone, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to thrive. 💪🌟

🌟 Meet Clare Mills, our Procurement to Payment Specialist. 🌟 'Problem-solving is what I love most about my #role – helping people, finding solutions, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. After 25 years at Eurostar, I’m proud to still find my job interesting, unpredictable, and full of #opportunities to make a difference. My role involves ensuring that suppliers are paid correctly and on time, overseeing the setup and #management of purchase orders, and troubleshooting any payment discrepancies. I also support colleagues by training them on procurement processes and providing guidance on best practices. With years of experience, I’ve become the go-to person for finance-related queries, always striving to make operations as efficient as possible. Honesty and care are at the heart of what I do – whether it’s resolving supplier issues, training #colleagues, or being a reliable point of contact for support. For me, it’s all about building connections and making a positive impact.'
