Together we’ll be helping our members to learn more about some of the key signs and symptoms of cancer. The new partnership signage is now in place across all of our leisure facilities. Jacqui Tillman, Aquatics and Wellbeing Director & Chief Executive of SLM Community Leisure Charitable Trust, said: “We are proud to support NHS England in raising awareness of the early signs and symptoms of cancer. As our leisure centres sit at the heart of local communities, we wanted to share these important health reminders with both our customers and colleagues. “In addition to this partnership, we also work closely with our charity partner, Breast Cancer Now, to raise vital funds and help them support those affected by breast cancer.” Dame Cally Palmer, National Director for Cancer at NHS England, said: “With over 230 leisure centres across the country, it’s fantastic that Everyone Active is partnering with the NHS to help improve body awareness and detect cancer earlier. This partnership builds on our work with supermarkets and health facilities to introduce important body awareness reminders in changing rooms, bathrooms and on clothing labels.” Finding cancer early can make it more treatable and can saves lives. As part of the investment in these facilities, Edenbridge Leisure Centre will receive a new group cycling studio, a modern Grab & Go food area, and upgraded gym equipment from Life Fitness and Keiser, enhancing the overall fitness experience. Meanwhile, Sevenoaks Leisure Centre will benefit from new cutting-edge fitness equipment, as well as a brand-new soft play zone to provide an engaging space for families. The contract also includes the continued management of Lullingstone Park Golf Course. Hasan Romel, Area Contract Manager, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Sevenoaks District Council. This half-million-pound investment demonstrates the Council’s commitment to delivering high-quality leisure services and ensuring local residents have access to first-class facilities. “These upgrades will enhance the leisure experience for everyone, whether they are experienced athletes, families looking to stay active, or individuals prioritising their health and wellbeing.” Cllr Lesley Dyball, Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Places, added: “We are very excited to be continuing our successful partnership with Everyone Active. Under their careful management, we have seen a steady increase in the number of people using the District’s leisure facilities, including the one millionth customer at Swanley White Oak. “Everyone Active - SLM recently made a big investment in White Oak Leisure Centre with an extension and upgrades to the popular gym. We can now look forward to more than half-a-million pounds of further improvements at Edenbridge and Sevenoaks Leisure centres, which I am confident will be warmly welcomed by customers.”

  • We’re delighted to support and share insights from Everyone Active - SLM at the industry leading ukactive Active Uprising 2025. As part of today’s panel discussion on Breaking the Bottleneck: creating the framework for a long-term career in leisure. Our Group Development Director, Ben Beevers, shared his thoughts: “What people really value is having a purpose. Seeing what difference they can make to their local community. Our industry is in a very powerful position because we directly make a difference to local communities. Giving people the opportunity to be a part of that and thrive is unique and where we should be focusing our efforts as an industry.” “The working environment is key. Our colleagues need to feel like they’re making a difference and feel like they’re a part of driving something forward. Our focus is on what is the next opportunity for our employees. What training and support can we offer them to encourage their development and how can we take care of them during that process.”
