  • Last week, we were delighted to host Sir Charlie Mayfield, who is leading an independent review into the role of employers in addressing health-related inactivity, along with members of the Joint Work and Health Unit, at our Manchester Institute of Health & Performance - Nuffield Health.   During the visit, we showcased our transformative Programmes for All and demonstrated how Nuffield Health and The Manchester Metropolitan University are working together to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing the nation's health. We highlighted the power of physical activity as a vital tool to improve the health of individuals living with long-term conditions and the critical role Nuffield Health plays in addressing unmet healthcare needs in local communities.    At Nuffield Health we are committed to working across the sector to deliver innovative programmes that build healthier communities, reduce economic inactivity, and ensure no one is left behind on their journey to good health.  #buildingahealthiernation

  • We are thrilled to announce a new 20 year, £200m collaboration with GE HealthCare! This partnership brings a major investment in cutting-edge, AI-enabled diagnostic imaging technology to our hospital network, significantly enhancing our diagnostic capabilities, and helping us to provide faster, more accurate answers for patients when they need them most. Here’s what it means: ✅ Faster, More Accurate Diagnoses: with access to innovative AI-enabled systems, reducing patient wait time and providing a better experience. ✅ Substantial Investment: with more than 100 new devices in 2025, and nearly 800 pieces of equipment across imaging, ultrasound, surgery, and X-ray over the partnership. ✅ Supporting the NHS: with over 1.6 million people awaiting diagnostic tests in the UK, this will unlock much-needed access for both NHS and privately paying patients. ✅ Greener Healthcare: underpinned by a shared commitment to sustainable healthcare, incorporating energy-efficient technology as it evolves. Our CEO, Alex Perry, joined GE HealthCare’s Simon McGuire at their UK offices in Pollards Wood earlier this week to see some of their cutting-edge technology in action. For many, this week marks the #returntowork and the “official” end of the festive period. If you’re struggling with the change of #routine (or recent lack thereof…) and can’t find the #motivation to get back into positive health and wellbeing habits, we’re here to help. Our personal training lead, Sam Quinn has shared his advice on why taking a break over the winter period can be hugely beneficial, both physically and mentally. 🏋️♀️ “#Exercise has many physical and mental health benefits. However, it is essential to take appropriate #rest to allow our body to adapt, as well as recovering from the stress or damage caused by the training or activity we are participating in. A planned week's break can be an effective strategy to boost performance or prevent injury and can be very beneficial and key to achieving your health and fitness goals.” 🏋️♂️ However, if you’re now keen to get back to it, Sam has also shared his tops on how to successfully start, or restart, a regime. Keep sliding to find out more 💪 If you’re looking to kick-start new #health & #wellbeing goals, or if you’d like to evolve your current programme, visit: https://lnkd.in/e-3ww-YJ for more expert advice and guidance.

  • The independent sector plays a vital role in supporting the Government and the NHS in reducing waiting lists and expanding areas of joint working. We are proud to be part of the solution through a new landmark partnership agreement between the NHS and the independent sector that will deliver faster, more accessible care for patients. In 2024 the sector treated over 1 million NHS patients, meaning they are no longer on NHS waiting lists. We have the capacity and the desire to do more, and we will play our part to help bring the nation back to health. As the UK’s largest healthcare charity, we have been working together with our NHS partners across the UK, continually increasing our support by opening access to treat NHS patients and helping to alleviate pressure on the healthcare system. We welcome the reforms announced over the weekend, which will give patients far greater choice and control over where they receive their NHS care, which includes the independent sector. We are also greatly encouraged that independent providers are recognised as being an important part of the NHS system and actively involved in planning service delivery across the healthcare eco system. Collaboration is key to meeting the challenges ahead, and we are committed to doing our part to ensure that patients get the care they need, when they need it.

  • In partnership with The Manchester Metropolitan University, we’ve published a thought-provoking white paper that examines how movement-based interventions can greatly improve health outcomes, including for those living with long-term conditions, as well as providing critical support for the NHS.   Our Healthier Nation Index reveals that one-third (33%) of Britons dedicated no time to physical activity over the past year, with the data highlighting further health inequalities across gender, age, and those living with long-term conditions.   Movement offers powerful mental and physical health benefits. That’s why we must prioritise its role, and fitness professionals more widely, to help deliver care and tackle health inequalities. We need to get the nation moving!   The incoming government is currently consulting on a 10-year plan to build a healthcare system fit for the future. As part of this, we’re calling for bold, coordinated action across government and the health system to make movement a cornerstone of health policy—transforming health outcomes, improving lives, and easing pressure on the NHS.
