    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Not only does Emma know exactly what my body needs to keep me going but the mind as well. Emma’s advice is invaluable." This is such an important message because I am personally fully aware of how an unhealthy mind can affect us physically, as well as vice versa. I am not an expert in any mental health except my own, so I don't offer any kind of counselling, but I do ask my clients questions based on my own experiences, that will help them to make the right decisions for them. In fact, this is the way I work with my coaching in general - I very rarely make the decisions - they are mostly made by my clients through the conversations we have and the questions I ask them.     Just a little reminder to do your rehab exercises (even after the pain has gone!). Did you realise that those rehab exercises are probably the kind of muscle activation exercises that are an ideal introduction into Strength & Conditioning exercises and sessions. So, if you've stopped doing your rehab exercises because they're boring, but you also know they are good for you, then look to progress them into a gym routine.     My Online Beginner Running Course includes a 10-Week Training Plan. This is similar to the 'Couch to 5k' type plans in that the aim is to be able to run a 5k by the end of it. However, it is a bit more progressive and has a slightly longer final couple of runs to accommodate people who will complete 5k in 35-45 minutes (as opposed to the 30 minute target of a traditional beginner 5k plan). It is also suitable for beginners who will complete a 5k in 30 minutes or less, as you will benefit from a bit more endurance towards the end of the plan. You will benefit so much more from the extra recovery than you ever will from over training.     Today, I did one of my favourite things: watch other people run. It was the Alresford 10k, and my OH was racing, along with some other clubmates, so I went along to support. It was one of my favourite days of late. We got there early for registration, so I went off for a 5k run while they were all sorting out their numbers. By the time I got back, they'd found themselves a nice little dugout near the finish and enjoying a bit of pre-race camaraderie. After they all set off, I got myself a sausage bap and coffee as my post-run snack! Then I found myself a nice quiet space to cheer them home. Some of them had a bad day, and some of them had a good day - that's the way running goes. And, as far as goodie bags go, this one was pretty unique, with a buff, some watercress, a banana, and a cookie from the local cafe - pretty spot on in my opinion in terms of local and traditional products. (Although I do always like to have a medal!). I definitely prefer supporting, rather than running the races myself, for various different reasons and whilst I didn't hear any positive reasons to do this one next year (too hot, too hilly, no earphones), it was a great day out from a spectating point of view.
