The high demand for clean water access is clear in Olmoran with over 450 households registering to use the new system in the first three days. This excitingly marks our expansion into Laikipia, the third county in Kenya that eWATER is working with, and is a significant step towards providing 24/7 water access to the whole community.

Access to water in Olmoran, Laikipia, is a major challenge. Most of the community relies on a single water kiosk with limited water available, and it’s untreated. Resulting in long queues and health risks for the community. As of yesterday, two Smart Taps became operational 24/7, providing immediate relief from the long wait times and clean, safe drinking water. Registrations have begun, and the installation of the remaining community Smart Taps will begin shortly.

This week marks our final Gathigiriri registrations—and our biggest ever! Almost 1500 registrations in just three days across the villages Kirogo, Block and Kamuchege, including a record high of 618 in one day! Each registration represents an entire household, meaning we reached approximately 6,500 people. We can’t wait to see Gathigiriri in full action!

A huge shout out to our incredible operations and maintenance team in Gathigiriri, Kenya! They've worked tirelessly to install and commission all 107 Smart Taps in our largest water system to date. Ensuring 17,000 people can get clean water, 24/7. The engagement and uptake from the community has been fantastic to see. They purchased 50,000 litres of water just yesterday! As we wrap up the final registrations, we celebrate our team’s dedication and hard work that has delivered the eWATER service to this community.

A big thank you to the dedicated CHPs (Community Health Practitioners) in Gathigiriri! Their community engagement and local expertise have been instrumental in eWATER’s rollout—encouraging new users, addressing questions, and building trust. These photos, taken by the CHPs themselves, highlight their efforts in mobilising the community and the positive impact of clean water on health and well-being. BWT Group

We are proud to announce that Murubara Primary School in Gathigiriri Ward has gained access to clean, safe drinking water through the installation of an eWATER Smart Tap. Previously students had to walk to a nearby contaminated river to collect drinking water. With the new eWATER Smart Tap at the center of the school, clean water is now easily accessible to all students and staff. At eWATER, we recognise the critical role that clean water plays in the health, well-being, and development of children. To support schools in providing this vital resource, we are proud to offer a subsidised rate to all schools to encourage widespread adoption. During the installation, Murubara Primary hosted a talent show with neighboring schools. The eWATER team loved the performances and sharing water with everyone. Excitement filled the air as teachers and pupils celebrated the water being turned on! BWT Group
