❌BAN THE LAM❌ Say no to plastic-laminate films on packaging. If a brand wants to achieve a matt or gloss decorative finish on their packaging, this can simply be achieved as a water-based coating application. There is no need for this to be a plastic laminate film. This avoids introducing unnecessary single-use plastic in the packaging specification of a folding carton that would be plastic-free without it. Sometimes brands don’t realise that these laminate films are at play with their packaging manufacturers. Try the “tear test” on the edge of a matt or gloss folding carton and see if it reveals a thin plastic film on the surface.  How does your brand achieve sustainable decorative finishes?
