Recruiting Mentors for Programmes starting in April and June! The Film London Connect mentoring scheme is for 18-24 year olds and the initiative aims to support and nurture young talents, particularly those from underrepresented groups within the film industry. Our ambitions for the programme are to diversify the film industry workforce by reducing barriers, improving wellbeing and supporting young people to get into, stay and progress within the Film Industry, particularly in these tough times. The mentoring ask is for 1 hour of your time, once a month for 6 months. We offer training, resources and support for you as a mentor throughout the programme. We welcome applications from all mentors, experienced or otherwise, but we are particularly keen to connect with potential mentors working in 'below the line' roles. Although of course mentors working as Directors, Producers and Screenwriters, continue to be popular! If you have the capacity to give back in this way, please do consider completing this short form that will help us match you to one of our wonderful mentees. Thank you. https://lnkd.in/eNUGTS3j

Introducing Film London Lodestar of the Month! Throughout the next 10 months we'll be highlighting each of the 2025 Lodestars every month, starting this month with our Animation Lodestar Yasmine Djedje-Fisher-Azoume! Yasmine is a freelance animator based in London, currently working as a producer at an independent animation studio. Her animation work is typically a blend of digitally drawn 2D animation, traditional paper animation and analogue techniques, and draws thematic and aesthetic influences principally from her West African (Ivorian) heritage. African wood carvings, bronze sculptures and ceremonial relics, the textures and colours of textiles and traditional dress are all foundational sources that have informed the evolving direction of her practice. https://buff.ly/zbNfkNh
