Happy to start workin with such an exciting new brand… 🚀 Thank you for the confidence MA'D MOSER TOKAJ 🥂
📣 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐣! Last week I wrote about my recent visit to Tokaj and the reason behind my trip (I felt the need to re-connect with Hungarian wine). Although, I didn't meet Rita Takaro DipWSET on this trip, somehow we ended up talking about her MA'D MOSER TOKAJ project which she started with the legendary Lenz Moser. The discussion continued and I'm happy to share that 𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚'𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐊 🇬🇧. I tasted their stunning wines before, their vision to rejuvenate Tokaj and to make it a benchmark in its category is right up my street, and I also love their colourful labels - I’ve always had a soft spot for eye-catching labels! 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚'𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬... The focus is on dry Furmint and they offer two different styles of it: - 𝐌𝐌𝟓 🥂 which is the zesty, bright and fruit forward version, the easy-drinking style with the screw cap closure and the vibrant pink label. Don't let the youthful packaging fool you though, it is a serious wine which received 𝟗𝟐 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 from both Decanter's sylvia wu and James Suckling. - 𝐌𝐌𝟓𝟓 🥂 is the 'bigger brother' with a more luxurious feel on the palate and more limited in availability (only 4500 bottles were made). It's 100% fermented and aged in 300 L Hungarian oak barrels (70% new) for 8 months. The stylish Vinolok closure is a hint of added luxury. Another 𝟗𝟐 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 according to 𝐒𝐲𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝗪𝐮 in 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 and 𝟗𝟑 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 from 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠. Mád Moser started off as a 'dry Furmint only' project, but the demand (and the logic) pushed Rita and Lenz to add the world renowned sweet wine 𝐓𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐣𝐢 𝐀𝐬𝐳ú 𝟔 𝐏𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐬 to the line-up (and they did). They choose none other than one of the top parcels of Grand Tokaj Winery from one of the most outstanding vintages (2013) of the region in recent decades. The 𝐌𝐌𝟓𝟓𝟓 🥂 affectionately known as "triple 5" has a staggering 208 g/l residual sugar, yet it's perfectly balanced by the signature acidity of Tokaj. It truly is a wine from a different world. 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 scored it (only) 𝟗𝟔 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 - In my opinion, it deserves even more! 😉 Mád Moser is already available in the UK via Alliance Wine, so if any of you would love to taste these epic wines drop me a DM and let's meet up! 📲🤝 Cheers! PS: I promise I won't turn up in this shirt. #Tokaj #Furmint #WineIndustry #HungarianWines #WineBusiness
