Online portals, legal automation and video client explainers for legal firms. Increase fee income and reduce costs.

About us

We provide an online portal and claims automation solution that converts more claimants and significantly reduces administrative burden. Case and practice management systems store data, emails and documents relating to claims. However… without significant time, expense and coupling with other solutions, do not drive firm revenue or cost savings through claimant self-service, automation and A.I. This is increasingly important given damages-based, contingent and capped fee agreements. Our case-type specific technology is used by market leaders in the U.K, U.S and Australia such as Leigh Day, Maurice Blackburn and Harcus Parker.

In addition to Sare Brownhill (JP), our resident lawyer and U.K claims expert, Kelsey Wallace Mengel, Esq. has now joined us as Head of Legal Solutions for the U.S. I am very excited about Kelsey’s joining, and she’s at #MTMP with Connor Goggin this week if you would like to meet us. The business of law, and how legal services are being provided is changing based on consumer technology trends and the availability of A.I. Kelsey saw great capability in our solution to help firms in the single event claims space and has joined as a subject matter expert for both us and our customer firms. She has a specific skill set and experience in the pre-litigation phase of the claims process where so much money is often left on the table, and claimants have a substandard experience with important life-changing events like injuries and medical negligence/malpractice. We are optimising fee-income and client experience in these areas through technology, and guidance in the form of best practices. A short bio is below. Kelsey began her career at a prominent personal injury law firm following law school, focusing on pre-litigation. She later transitioned to a boutique firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accidents. Eventually, Kelsey returned to pre-litigation, where she discovered her passion for intake processes. Over the past few years, she has collaborated with diverse teams to optimize best practices for mass tort and personal injury intake, consistently achieving increased conversion rates, enhanced employee retention, effective marketing strategies, and improved client satisfaction. Kelsey’s expertise in the personal injury field includes identifying and addressing common issues with client retention and conversion, personalizing intake scripts, crafting effective text and email communication, and conducting intake training and quality control. She also has a track record of successfully onboarding new personal injury case types and mass torts. As a dedicated military spouse, Kelsey actively volunteers with the J.D. Military Spouse Network, where she assists military families with their legal needs, demonstrating her commitment to community service and legal support. #masstort #classaction #claims #grouplitigation #massarbitration #mtmp https://lnkd.in/eGeK95xg

We hosted our international team and opened our new office this week. We brought everyone together to discuss our strategy and the upcoming roadmap for our solution that enables mass and volume legal claims teams to be more efficient and generate more fee income. There were awards, drumming, several large bar bills and many smiling faces. We've doubled our recurring revenue again in the last 12 months and also doubled the size of our team. Thanks to our customers, investors and partners, and here's to another big 12 months at FinLegal. #scaleup #claims #legaltech #classaction #grouplitigation

FinLegal Announces £2M in Funding from Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II An article in Business Live covers the announcement from Sheffield-based FinLegal that it has raised £2 million in funding from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II). The legal technology company offers a platform that can be used for the class actions or high volume small claims management, utilising automation and AI to increase efficiency and reduce costs. FinLegal plans to use the new investment to expand its operations and double its workforce. Steve Shinn, founder of FinLegal, provided the following comment on the announcement: “The claims market is ripe for a platform like ours. Many claims are run on a no-win no-fee basis and increasingly there are fee caps, so operating costs are critical. Our solution reduces costs, automates but also improves client care and makes it possible to manage claims at a scale which might otherwise not be viable. It has already been adopted by the some of the leading claims firms and this investment will enable us to accelerate our international growth.” https://lnkd.in/g8di7Cch #litigationfinance #litigationfunding #litfin #legalfinance #legalfunding #masstorts #claimsmanagement #fintech #legaltech

On the back of our success in providing our software to legal claims teams in the U.K, Australia and U.S I’m pleased to announce that we recently completed an investment from Mercia Equity Finance, which is part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II), and Mercia’s own funds. I am very grateful to many people. It takes obsession from a few people, the patience of early investors and customers, and then maintained effort from a dedicated team to build a Software-as-a-service business which is now as successful as ours in solving proper problems. We are now providers to market-leading claims firms Leigh Day in the U.K and Maurice Blackburn in Australia and assisting an increasing number of smaller and larger claims firms internationally who are putting our software alongside case management platforms to deliver better client care and help them generate more fees, more efficiently. This is vital in an environment of capped or percentage-based fees, and increasing overheads. We will grow to 55 people by April 25, and now accelerate our core mission to improve how claims teams communicate with and gather information from claimants, and then manage and payout claims. I’m most proud of two things that I love about our business as a human and a business person: The work our team has diligently completed on helping law firms help real people, and that despite what the SaaS industry would consider nominal investment, still solidly tripled or doubled annually recurring revenues (ARR) every year by providing real value. This gave us tremendous optionality around a path of organic growth vs investment to scale faster, and I was delighted that Chris Borrett at Mercia provided terms that I was keen to accept. https://lnkd.in/eYHJND69
