It's #foodwasteactionweek and we're celebrating our incredible partnership with @fareshareni which has been going strong since 2011. Together, we’ve been turning surplus food into social good. 💚 #LoveFoodHateWaste #biggerpicture 🤝 Last year alone, we donated over 26 tonnes of sausages, bacon, and plant-based foods — the equivalent of 62,619 meals. This supported 141 charities and community groups. 🌍 And that’s not all — our partnership helped prevent 56.2 tonnes of CO2e from being wasted! Our managers recently participated in Carbon Literacy Training, facilitated by Business in the Community. The engaging course delves into the science behind greenhouse gases, explores the human and environmental impact of climate breakdown, and provides insights on how to measure impact and determine the most effective strategies to achieve net zero. This morning, Finnebrogue's CEO, Andrew Nethercott, joined Meat Business Women and industry leaders at the House of Lords to launch a ground-breaking charter aimed at transforming gender balance in the global food sector. Andrew explains why the Food Business Charter is important to the food sector and why Finnebrogue has committed to reach a minimum 40% female representation by 2035. At Finnebrogue, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We’re not only committed to reducing our environmental impact but also focused on fostering collaboration and inspiring the next generation of sustainability leaders. One of the recent highlights of our sustainability efforts was a visit from students at CAFRE - College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise. The students learned about the environmental and social impacts of food production, with a special focus on how we’re working with suppliers and partners to reduce our footprint.
