Last night the Fitzwilliam College Economics and Finance Society (FCEFS) enjoyed a fascinating talk by new Fitz Bye-Fellow and alumnus, Dr Shamil Chandaria. Dr Chandaria’s educational journey began with a degree in Natural Sciences at Fitzwilliam College and has since evolved into a multidisciplinary approach that spans mathematical modelling, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, philosophy and spirituality.

This week's Meet the Fitz Postgraduate is Awais 🙂 Name: Awais Course: PhD in F. Prop. & Power (Engineering) Nationality: Scottish What’s great about Fitz? 'I had never visited Cambridge before starting my MRes, I was also not familiar with the college system approach of Oxbridge universities. Fitz was allocated to me randomly and I honestly feel it was a perfect fit.' Describe your research 'My research investigates the component level design considerations of supercritical fluids which are proposed to be utilised within new advanced power plant cycles.' What are the benefits of having an active MCR? 'I think one of the college's strengths is its MCR. The reason why Fitz excels as a College is the approachability offered to new people joining through a social MCR. '
