  • Protect those working alone Lone workers can be at greater risk of harm as they may not have anyone to help or support them if things go wrong. Employers should provide training, supervision, monitoring and support for those working alone. HSE's leaflet 'Protecting lone workers: How to manage the risks of working alone' is free to download. It is for anyone who employs lone workers, or engages them as contractors, including self-employed people or those who work alone. The leaflet is supported by our lone working guidance pages which includes advice aimed at lone workers themselves. The HSE also have a lone workers video setting out the key advice. https://lnkd.in/ex3b3qhW

  • FOHN and BOHS survey Health risk management We are conducting a survey to assess the present competence of OH nurses in health risk management and identify the need for additional training. It is about fact finding rather than highlighting gaps in your practice.   Often the risk from health hazards present in the workplace is not readily apparent, recognised or understood. They can cause serious ill-health over the longer term from repeated relatively low levels of exposure if appropriate controls have not been applied. Are you confident that you would recognise all the health risks in your workplace so that they are managed to avert harm to the workers in your care?   Below is the link to the survey for you to complete by 15th November. https://lnkd.in/eQdDzZbD
