“More FTSE 100 companies [are] meeting or exceeding best practice by donating at least 1% of their pre-tax profits”, reports CAF.
“If more businesses worked towards longer-term flexible funding pledges that meet the 1% minimum, then it’s no exaggeration to say that it could be transformative for the charity sector.” - Philippa Cornish, CAF's Head of Client Experience. Our Corporate Giving 2024 report shows promising growth, with more FTSE 100 companies meeting or exceeding best practice by donating at least 1% of their pre-tax profits. Imagine the potential if all UK businesses followed suit: an estimated £9.9 billion could be directed to charities - funds that would help them to thrive, grow, and drive lasting change across the country. ➡️ Explore the full report for more in-depth insights on Corporate Giving: https://lnkd.in/eva94aAF #CorporateGiving #FTSE100 #Philanthropy #ResponsibleBusiness

Here's a Halloween blog post from John Thompson on UK Fundraising from 2013.
A #Halloween blog from my archive: When companies cock-up, is just saying sorry then paying a charity “fine” the best solution? Previous corporate cock-ups, such as Asda and Tesco’s mental patient/psycho ward Halloween costume fiascos, set the internet on fire. "The flickering embers of angry tweets fired-off by disgruntled individuals, often demanding a massive donation to charity, suddenly get swept up by a howling wind of widespread outrage that’s fanned by tabloids intent on stoking up a good story. Unless these situations are swiftly brought under control, corporate images can quickly succumb to third degree burns."
