On World Mental Health Day, we had the privilege of welcoming Tony Pearson—co-founder of BJS Home Delivery and now an advocate with his new company, fliqer—as a guest speaker 🎤 Tony opened up about why he started fliqer and shared why talking about mental health at work matters so much, his honesty really struck a chord with all of us. Today we had a very special guest join us at FurnitureboxUK for our whole company meeting, Tony Pearson. 🌟 The meeting was dedicated to mental health after World Mental Health day on Thursday 10th and we couldn't think of a better speaker and inspiration to come and talk to the team. 💚 Having met Tony a number of years ago I was instantly taken in by his kindness, warmth and humour- he is truly one of a kind. Sadly he suffered a life changing accident a couple of years ago that has left him quadriplegic, however he has shown simply incredibly strength and determination to push forward with his life. From being only able to blink in hospital to working tirelessly to gain movement in his hands, arms and toes, I am genuinely in awe of his progress and positivity. 👏 His talk today has left everyone at Furniturebox feeling so inspired and moved, so I wanted to say a huge thank you to Tony for such a fantastic speech and day. On Wednesday our Head of Customer Service Neil was invited to speak at the ChannelX conference on the ‘Customer Experience Enhancement’ Panel 🎤   This panel explored ways to improve the overall customer experience on e-commerce channels, including strategies for reducing friction in the purchasing process, enhancing product discovery and providing personalised recommendations and support.   Neil is the perfect expert on this, as he has helped build and maintain our excellent 4.9 Trustpilot score, and made us known for our brilliant customer service 🤩   Here’s what Neil had to say:   "I had a great time at the ChannelX Panel Session on Customer Experience Enhancement.   It was great to be able to talk about everything we have learned here at Furniturebox, there was also so much to hear from everybody else as well, it was a really exciting day!   Many thanks to the team at BigCommerce for arranging this with us." #customerservice #customerserviceteam #customersuccess #customersupport

We have another 5-year anniversary to celebrate and this time it's for our product onboarding exec Meg! 🎉👏🏻 She started her Furniturebox career in our Customer Services team and is now an integral part of the Buying team. Very few people have the level of attention to detail that Meg has, making her the cornerstone of the product team keeping us all in line with product launch schedules, data updates and all the onboarding details 🔍 Meg’s positive attitude and tenacious nature means she rises to every challenge presented to her and is highly respected by all her colleagues.
